Abstract
Thisstudyexplainstheconceptofentrepreneur’ssocialcapital, animportantresearchareainentrepreneurship literature in recent years, and aims to develop a valid and reliable measurement instrument that can measure entrepreneurs’ social capital in domestic literature. This scale adaptation study includes reliability and validity values within the Turkish validation of the Entrepreneur’s Social Capital Scale developed by Hernández-Carrión et al. (2007). In this study conducted with 375 entrepreneurs from Turkey, it was found that the scale in the Turkish language has a structure of 24 items and four dimensions under its original four-factor structure. These dimensions are personal, professional, associative, and corporate relationships. In the reliability analysis, the Cronbach alpha coefficient of the entrepreneur’s social capital scale was 0.83, 0.77, 0.82, and 0.87, respectively. A new concept of entrepreneur’s social capital was introduced into the domestic literature in the research. As a result of the statistical analysis, the adapted entrepreneur’s social capital scale shows that it can be used as a valid and reliable scale for measuring an entrepreneur’s social capital in Turkey.
