Abstract

This study is based on the desire to teach spatial organization through ‘Basic Design’ while examining theBauhaus effect on the design experience and to question how the sub-expansions of this effect can bereflected starting the architectural design education. The aim of this study is to explore relationshipbetween Bauhaus school principles and design (spatial organization) principles and to evaluate thereflections of this relationship through architectural design education. In this study, the intellectualsystematic of understanding and interpreting the space as a method is discussed through analysistransformation-synthesis processes and relationship between spatial organization and Bauhaus studies isrevealed through the findings obtained. In this context, product designs created by students whoentered ‘Basic Design’ studio based on tshe effects of Bauhaus school are examined, and spatialrelationship of resulting products with intellectual infrastructure and identity created is examined. As aresult, exploring relationship between Bauhaus school principles and design (spatial organization)principles is an important beginning in architectural design education.
