Abstract
Bütün değerlendirmelerin ışığında, Z Kuşağı konutunun; iç- dış, kapalı- açık, mahrem- kamusal, özel (the me)- paylaşımlı (the we), dijital- fiziksel, karşıtlıkları kendinde toplayan "Eşik Konut," olması gerektiği neticesine varılmıştır.
Housing is the basic architectural element that meets one of the most basic needs of the human being, the act of shelter. Although it is always needed in terms of the need for shelter, social changes transform the house. Although it is shaped according to the expectations of every age, changes are reflected in the house later due to the permanent structure and cost of the architecture. With the Gen Z, the world has started to digitalize and the need for physical spaces has begun to change. This change will be the beginning of a new era; it is thought that with the renewal of social needs and expectations and the evolution of the world, the physical environment will also be reorganized. The starting point of this study is how all these change processes will affect the house, how the users will transform the house. The aim of the thesis study is to make inferences about the future of the house by determining the use of housing of Generation Z. For this purpose, generations, historical evolution of housing, current changes, future change expectations and the concept of threshold are examined. The threshold is the point, is the area where it associate and also separate inside and outside, confidential and public, permeable and solid, rigid and flexible. For this reason, today has been defined as threshold time, and the housing of Gen Z has been named "Threshold Housing" because it is the border and transition between digital and physical. Following the formation of the conceptual framework, a survey was conducted with three different groups that identified as Generations X, Y and Z, the perspectives of the generations are handled comparatively and evaluations are made about the future of housing and the housing expectation of the Gen Z, who do not have their own house yet. The perception of housing that changed with the pandemic process was also included in the scope of the research. In the light of all the evaluations, the Gen Z housing has concluded to be "Threshold Housing" by collecting internal- external, closed- open, private- public, private "the me" - shared "the we", digital- physical contrasts in itself.
