Abstract
üzerindeki ve Facebook’a ilişkin algılarının mahremiyet kaygısı üzerindeki etkileri oluşturmaktadır. Bu
amaçla, 514 kişiye çevrimiçi anket uygulanmıştır. Elde

This study aims to reveal the reasons for using Facebook; examine the attitudes and apprehensions towards privacy and security. For this purpose, an online questionnaire was conducted with 514 Facebook users in Istanbul. According to the results, Facebook is used mostly for messaging and the lists of friends mainly comprise people who are already acquainted with. Hence, in order to keep safe online, precautions are taken by simply picking out people who are already known and adding them as friends.
