Abstract
Loft kavramı ve bu mekânların oluşum koşulları, Brütalizm akımı ve etkilerinin devam etmesine bağlı olarak kaynak araştırması, incelenecek olan örneğin irdelenmesi ve araştırma yöntemlerinden yararlanılarak tez çalışmasının konusu oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmada buna ek olarak 1950 yılında New York kentinde ortaya çıkan Loft mekânlar ve 1949-1954 yıllarında Brütalizm akımının ortaya çıkışına sebep olan yapıların geçmişten günümüze kadar olan gelişim dünyadaki ve Türkiye deki süreçle birlikte irdelenerek sonuca ulaşılmıştır. Bu çalışma içerisinde öncelikle birinci bölümde 1950'lerde New York kentinin Manhattan bölgesindeki Soho semtinde ortaya çıkan Loft kavramı irdelenerek ortaya çıkış süreci, uygulama ölçütleri, Loft türleri ve Loft'un Avrupa'ya yayılışı incelenerek resimler ve oluşan mekânların plan şemaları yardımıyla türlerine göre "Loft" kavramı tanımlanmıştır. İkinci bölümde ise mekân, mekân algısı ve mekânsal öğeleri bağlamında fizyolojik, psikolojik ve sosyolojik göstergeler düzeyinde analiz edilerek "Mekân kimliği" ve "Loft" kavramı tanımlanmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise "Brütalizm" kavramı, Brütalizm kavramının ortaya çıkış süreci ele alınarak etkilerinin loft kavramı üzerinde nasıl devam ettiği saptanmıştır. Brütalizm akımı ve Loft kavramının birbirleriyle örtüşüyor olması düşüncesi ele alınarak örnek üzerinde incelenmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde Türkiye'de Loft kavramı, Türkiye'de Loft kavramının ortaya çıkışı, Loftların yapısal analizi ve İstanbul'daki Loft mekânlar arasından seçilmiş örnekler fotoğraflarla ve tasarımcıları tarafından elde edilmiş alıntı resimlerle tanıtılmıştır. Serbest plan, yüksek tavan, geniş pencereler ve çıplak strüktür ölçütlerine sahip endüstriyel kimlikli Loft mekânlar, çalışma ve barınma amaçlı olarak sanatçılar ve evsizler tarafından dönüştürülmüş ve kullanılmıştır. Asıl amaç evsizlik problemine çözüm olarak hem yaşam alanı hem de çalışma alanı olarak kullanılmak olan Loft mekânlar Marjinal bir konut kültürünün ürünü olarak adlandırılmıştır. Loft mekanlar günümüzde mimarlar tarafından yeniden tasarlanarak emlak sektöründe büyük rant sağlamış son zamanlarda ki en dikkat çeken trend haline gelmiştir. Gerçek Loft özelliklerinden uzaklaşarak tasarlanmış olan Sahte Loft örnekleri Türkiye'de daha fazla bulunmaktadır. Dördüncü bölümde ilk ortaya çıkan loft mekânları ve günümüz loft mekânları arasındaki mimari estetik farklılıklar ele alınan Karaköy Loft örneği ile birlikte irdelenmiştir. Araştırma sonunda ise, ucuz ve kullanışlı kavramlarıyla ortaya çıkan Loft mekânlarının günümüzde prestij amaçlı olarak üst gelir gurubuna hitap etmeye başladığı, zamanla değişen estetik zevklerin Loft mekanlara yansıdığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Loft concept and formation conditions of these places, Brutalism current research and resources, depending on the continuation of effects, for example, which will be examined and discussed the topic of thesis research utilizing the method has been established. in addition, in 1950, working in New York City loft spaces emerged in the years 1949-1954 in the city and Brutalism current development of the world to the present from the past that led to the emergence of structures and has been reached results with process of Turkey that examined. In the first part of firstly this study in 1950 in New York City concept loft in the Soho district of Manhattan in examining the emergence of urban process , application criteria, Loft and Loft examining the types of images and the resulting spread of European venues by type of plan schemes with the help of "Loft" concept has been defined. In the second part , space, spatial perception and spatial elements in the context of physiological, psychological and sociological indicators analyzed at the level of "Space identity" and "Loft" concept has been defined. In the third part , "Brutalism" concept, Brutalism by considering the process of emergence of the concept, effects on the loft concept that was determined how continued. Brutalism stream and Loft concept, the idea that overlap with each other, was studied by taking samples. In the fourth part , the loft concept in Turkey, the emergence of the loft concept in Turkey, structural analysis of the Loft and Loft spaces in Istanbul chosen from samples obtained by photographs and designers have been introduced with quotes pictures. The free plan, high ceilings, large windows and exposed structural criteria have identity industrial loft spaces, for the purpose of work and shelter are converted and used by artists and homeless. The main purpose, as a solution to the homeless problem, loft spaces are used as both living area and work area, is called the marginal product of a housing culture. Loft spaces had great rent in the real estate industry ,due to redesigned by architects nowadays , it has become the trend recently that attracted the most attention. Examples of fake Loft Loft is designed away from the real properties , there are more in Turkey. In the fourth part, architectural aesthetic differences between first emerged loft spaces and modern loft spaces, was examined with Loft example of Karaköy. At the end of the study, cheap and convenient with the emerging concept of loft spaces, today began to cater to upper income groups for the purpose of prestige, it has reached the conclusion that reflect the time-varying aesthetic pleasure loft spaces.
