Kentsel Siluetin Çeşitlilik Açısından Değerlendirilmesinde Entropi Yaklaşımı

Abstract

Urban skylines are the basic references to understand the urban form. The change of urban form can be clearly observed especially in the waterfront skyline view. The visual diversity is the important part of change and aesthetic of the urban skyline. The aesthetical divercity of the urban skylines can be measured by the entropy whiich is a part of information theory. Entropy redefined bye the theory of information is an approach which can be used in multidisciplinary field and also be used in measuring of the visual richness of the architectural facades. In the studies where this kind of approach is fallowed, along with abstraction of facades, visual data is coded by various formal properties and then their entropy results are obtained. In this work some of the urban skylines of different world cities were analyzed for their aesthetical diversity by the entropy analysis was discussed.
