Abstract
21. yüzyıl bilgi çağına birey yetiştiren eğitim kurumlarının birincil görevlerinden biri öğrencilerin gerekli bilgi ve beceriler ile donatılmasını sağlamaktır. Teknolojinin gelişimi ve yeni öğretim tekniklerinin gelişmesi ile ortaöğretim kurumları da çağı yakalamak ve nitelikli eğitim ortamı sağlamak için yenileşim ve değişim içine girmek durumundadır. Bu çalışma, eğitimde inovasyonun gerekliliği, tanımı ve okul liderlerinin bu süreçteki katkısı ve etkisi ile inovasyon süreç aşamalarını teorik anlamda bir bakış açısı vermekle beraber, bu süreci deneyimlemiş yöneticiler ile yapılan görüşmeler yoluyla araştırmacılara ve inovasyon sürecine girmek isteyen okul yöneticilerine bir ışık tutması amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmanın genel amacı özel ortaöğretim kurumlarında, inovasyon sürecinde olan okul liderlerinin sürece etkisi, katkısı ve okul yöneticilerinin inovasyon süreci sırasında karşılaştıkları zorluklar ve zorlukların üstesinden gelme deneyimlerinin paylaşılmasıdır. Temel amaç, durumu özgün ortamı içinde değerlendirmek, betimlemek ve yorumlamaktır. Bu genel amaç doğrultusunda alt problemler oluşturulmuştur. 1. alt problem okul yöneticilerinin inovasyon algısı; 2. alt problem inovatif okul lideri profili; 3. alt problem inovasyon sürecinde karşılaşılan zorluklar; 4. alt problem inovasyon sürecinde yaşanan zorlukların üstesinden gelme yolları olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada nitel yöntem kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, bütüncül çoklu durum deseni kullanılarak, inovasyon sürecinde olan okul yöneticileri ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme yöntemi ile çalışılmıştır. Alanyazın bölümünde konu ile ilgili önceki çalışmaların bir derlemesi yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler ile kayıt altına alınan veriler, temalar ve alt temalar belirlenerek betimleme ve yorumlama çalışmalarına geçilmiştir. Araştırmada, katılımcı okul yöneticileri, okul örgütünün varolan kültürünün, misyon ve vizyonunun ve öğretim yaklaşımlarının gözönüne alınarak, 21.yüzyıl becerilerini edinmiş öğrencilerin, yetişkin olduklarında hayatlarını sürdürebilme becerilerini kazanmaları için, güncelleme yapılmış, varolan eğitim sistemini yenilikler ile donatılarak yeni bir eğitim sistemi oluşturulması konusunu vurgulamışlardır. Araştırmada, katılımcı okul müdürleri, inovasyon tanımının eğitime girmesi ile ticari kazanç sağlamaya çalışan insanların okul müdürlerinin önüne getirdikleri sözde teknolojik çözümlerin ve okul örgütünde bunların reklam amaçlı kullanımının inovasyon tanımının içine girmediği konusunda hemfikir olmuş ve reklam amaçlı sadece görsel ve gösteriş için kullanılan yaklaşımın, eğitim kalitesine katkısı olmadığını, okul paydaşlarının yararına olmadığını, sadece zaman ve para tüketimi olduğunu vurgulamışlardır. Bu araştırmada ele alınan bulgular doğrultusunda inovasyon sürecindeki ve inovasyon sürecine girmeyi planlayan kurumlara ve inovasyon konusunda çalışma yapmak isteyen araştırmacılara ışık tutması amacı ile öneriler sunulmuştur. One of the priorities of educational institutions that educate the students for the 21st century, the information era, is to make the students ready with the necessary knowledge and skills. With the development of technology and new teaching techniques, secondary education institutions also have to engage in innovation and change in order to catch up with the new technology age and provide a qualified educational environment. The purpose of this research is to provide an insight on innovation in schools for the researchers and the school leaders who consider to establish an innovative school environment. This research was also carried out with the aim of providing a theoretical perspective by examining the definition of innovation, the process of innovation and the necessity of innovation through interviews done with the school leaders who are involved in innovation process. The main purpose of this research is to determine the effects, contribution and process management of the school leaders throughout the innovation process in secondary educational institutions. Moreover, this research tries to establish the challenges and solutions that the school leaders face during the innovation process. The fundamental objective is to evaluate, describe and interpret the situation in its original environment. Sub-problems were created through this fundamental objective. The first one is the school leaders' perception of innovation; the second problem is the profile of innovative school leader; the third one is the difficulties encountered in the innovation process; and the last one, fourth one is how to overcome the difficulties experienced in the innovation process. In the research, the problems have been determined within the interview analysis done by the researcher. Qualitative method was used in this research. In the study, semi- structured interviews were used with school leaderswho were in the process of innovation, using intertwined multiple case patterns. It is emphasized in the research within the secondary education school administrators' ideas reflecting the present culture, mission and vision, and education approaches of the school organization that it is necessary to establish an education system that will equip students with the latest 21st century skills that will prepare them to maintain their lives when they become adults. Participant school principals are of the same opinion that some leaders use the innovation concept to provide more profit in education sector. Consequently, it is highlighted that using the innovative approach only for advertisement has no contribution to the quality of education and the school environment, which indicates that it is rather a waste of money and time resources. A compilation of previous works on the subject has been shared in the section of the literature. By means of the recorded interviews, the themes and the sub-themes have been depicted and interpreted. Some suggestions were aimed at providing insight for the institutions planning to engage some sort of innovation process were shared in this study.
