Abstract

As construct ion industry has some special conditions like demand volatility, uncertainity and high risk, subcontractors are preferred widely. In construction industry, even if the size of the firm and capacity of work increase, subcontracting enables some advantages to general contractor such as providing nexibility, saving from some bureaucratic procedures and easy control. Functioning like o buffer against the environment, sharing the uncerta inty with the firm, making technological devepments following easily and providing specialists of different areas make subcontracting attractive. As some of the problems faced before wiJ be solved, working with another independent finn may lead to nev; problems. Long lasting relations with the subcontractors especially with previous good quality of collaberate may be one of the ways solving this problem.
