Abstract

Distance management is closely related to the rise and direction of digital organizationsas new technologies, and schools are organizations in this context. As a result of thischange, the way of meeting and communicating with stakeholders in educational andadministrative actions, which is the most basic work done in schools, has visiblydifferentiated. With the increase and prevalence of distance working time, the humanfactor that is primarily affected by this process and the differentiation in the way ofdoing business has become a subject that organizations should carefully examine inorder to reach their goals. Turkey and other countries have compulsory distanceeducation due to the Covid 19 pandemic, and with this transition, there has been nochange in the function of schools and the achievements of the courses, but the fact thatstudents, teachers and administrators are present in separate places for the samepurpose has created a fundamental change in the way of working. While teachers andstudents were in virtual school environments, the expected competencies from bothitems changed. The new ways of studying and teaching made it compulsory to applyadministrative processes differently. Especially in terms of the continuity of the systemand the quality of educational activities, management is at the key point and and thereis a need to reconsider how distance management should be, changing roles andresponsibilities and management principles in this process. For this reason, the purposeof this research is to deal with the points that should be taken into consideration in thedistance management of schools in detail and to give suggestions on how distancemanagement should be.
