Publication Metadata only 21. Publication Metadata only A Gravity Model: Maritime Transport Costs and Their Impact on Economy(2019-10-04) Çalışkan, Nutren; 221061Due to transportation expenses, trade costs still protects its importance because no matter how companies try, they cannot zeroize their transportation cost. Maritime transportation is the most effective mode to move large quantities of cargo over long distances.1 That is why maritime most preferred transportation mode in international trade. The Gravity Model is a popular model in international trade theory. It named after Newton's "law of gravity." This model says that, trade between countries can be explained by their GDP sizes and transportation costs which are varied by the geographical distance between them. Turkey carries out approximately 70% of its foreign trade using maritime transport. In 2017, Turkey major trading partner countries for exports were Germany, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and United States and for imports, they were China, Germany, Russian Federation, United States and Italy.2 Making use of these countries maritime transport costs, their GDP’s and their distances between each other, this study investigate the role of maritime freight costs and its effects on these countries economy by using gravity model.Publication Metadata only A microsoft visual Basic software for B-Spline solution of the one-dimensional heat equation(2008) Çağlar, Hatice Nazan; Çağlar, Süleyman Hikmet; Özer, Mehmet; CUHACI, LEVENT; 110809; 114368; 2509; 112369Publication Metadata only A Model Suggestion For Customer Saticfaction in the Proces of Using Mobile Shoping Applications: The Role of Personal Innovativeness as a moderator(2018-11) Çarıkçıoğlu, Peyami Safa; Yüksel, Cenk Arsun; 4525; 176293This study examines the relations: consumers' price sensitivity and perceived ease of use is related to customer satisfaction and also personal innovativeness has some effects on these relations, in purchases made by mobile applications. Research on consumer behavior in the field of electronic commerce is widely discussed in the literature. But, in the field of mobile commerce, there are few studies analyzing the behavior of information systems, especially for shopping with mobile applications. If information systems are successfully managed, ways will be made to achieve the desired goal, marketing strategies and channels, sales and more. Thus, it would be advantageous to make mobile technology easy to use, measuring the price sensitivity that affects purchasing decisions, ensuring the adoption of new information systems to enable users to shop with mobile applications. When the variables reach a satisfactory level, mobile marketing will be considered successful. Taking these variables into consideration, an improved model to this research is proposed. Therewith, (N=612) mobile users were questioned in the survey study and used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) in AMOS program. In the research results, it is found that personal innovativeness is the most influential variable on customer satisfaction about mobile shopping applications. It has also been observed that in shopping by mobile applications, the perceived ease of use and price sensitivity are moderators of personal innovativeness in customer satisfaction. Personal innovativeness is a moderator variable which has a positive effect and it increases customer satisfaction.Publication Metadata only A non polynomial spline solution of the one-dimensional wave equation subject to an integral conservation condition(2010) Çağlar, Hatice Nazan; Çağlar, Süleyman Hikmet; Yılmaz, Serhat; İşeri, Müge; 110809; 114368Hyperbolic partial differential equations with an integral condition serve as models in many branches of physics and technology. Recently, much attention has been expended in studying these equations and there has been a considerable mathematical interest in them. In this work, the solution of the one-dimensional nonlocal hyperbolic equation is presented by the method of non-polynomial cubic splines. Numerical results reveal that present method based on non-polynomial spline is implemented and effective.Publication Metadata only A Research on Business Failure/Success Measurement in BIST 100 Firms: An Empirical Analysis(2019-10-14) Çetiner, Emine Müge; 2855Publication Metadata only AB Fonlarının Türkiye de Dağılımı ve Bir Etkenlik Analizi MÜDSEM Projesi(2006) Alçın, Kerim Sinan; 9467Publication Metadata only Additive Production as Metamorphosis in Production Morphology(2019-12) Alçın, Sinan; 9467Production as a live process, describes a flow in which different components come together in different shapes and quantities into a different new component. Production in its simplest form involves the effort to bring out something new, while in another aspect it is a process of extracting mineral from the soil, water from the river, and oxygen from the air. In the manufacturing stage of production, there are three classical methods: Cutting, Engraving and Forming. All three of these methods include cutting, engraving and shaping the mine or compound drawn from soil, air and water. The production compound detached from nature experiences the second intervention in the manufacturing stage. This metazori is a metaphormosis. In recent years, Additive Manufacturing has entered our agenda with three- dimensional printers and scanners, unlike classical production and manufacturing methods; with a wide range of material combinations using very different techniques (FDM, SLA, DLP, SLS etc.) production from the current state, it is based on the idea of integrating the fragmented state of the present. Additive Manufacturing enables product possibilities such as iron powder motor housing or a jointless table, the main purpose of this study is to discuss how differentiated from current production.Publication Embargo Ağ Etkisi Ve Teknoloji Şirketlerinin Yaşam Döngüsü Üzerindeki Etkisi(İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi / İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi / İktisat Bölümü, 2016-04) Çelebi, AtahanPublication Open Access Age, technology adoption, and the agricultural productivity in the era of Agriculture 4.0(2020) Hamzaoğlu, Nazife Merve; Öztürkler, Harun; 315872Agriculture 4.0 is a current agenda for both developed and developing countries as its benefits to increase the agricultural productivity are inevitable. The need to feed the world has been become an important issue in the global scene and the world must increase the food production more than 70% by 2050 (De Clerck et al., 2018). Therefore, food security is now considered as a part of national security. It is also noteworthy to mention that the negative impact of climate change on agriculture is under debate; first, severe reduction in agricultural productivity due to temperature increases, heat waves, droughts, unusual climate conditions may occur in near future. Second, natural resources have been becoming more scarce than ever due to climate change, therefore conventional usage of water, soil can be stressed as agricultural inputs. Thirdly, the conventional agriculture has been criticized to pollute the environment due to use of chemical substances and contributing to Greenhouse Gas releases (in animal husbandry); new developments in production must be integrated to sustain the reduction in pollution. To overcome these negative impacts of climate change on agriculture and increase productivity, Agriculture 4.0 offers solution while applying digitalization in the production process. As is well known, neoclassical approach to production function takes capital, labour, natural resources, and entrepreneurs as the factors of production. In addition to debates regarding quality of factors not being taken into account and technology as being an exogenous factor, demographic characteristics of entrepreneur are also missing in the related literature. However, there is a long debate on the effect of farmer’s age on the productivity in the agricultural production processes through several channels such as physical capital investment decisions and attitude towards innovations in agricultural technologies. It is argued that aging of the formers leads to a significant decline in the productivity because as farmers get older they become more conservative, lose their physical capacity, and become more reluctant to the application of new technologies (Tauer, 1984, 1995; Corner-Thomas, 2015). Moreover, studies show that younger farmers can highly contribute to economic performance and sustainability (Zagata and Sutherland, 2015; Brennan et al., 2016). Since Agriculture 4.0 is the future of feeding the world and agricultural sector, and young farmers show higher capabilities in the adoption of new technologies this study aims to show the impact of age in technology adoption and agricultural productivity. Therefore, we utilize an extended version of the Cobb Douglas Production Function. Along with physical capital and labour, we add farmer as the entrepreneur weighted with an age factor. Furthermore, in different versions of the production function we incorporate several other variables such as usage of fertilizers, agricultural subsidies, and expenditure on research and development in order to control the effects of these factors. In the second stage, on the basis of theoretical and empirical constructs we drive an estimable regression function from the extended production function. Incorporating the countries and time period for which data is available we set up a panel data model. By doing so, we investigate the effect of aging on agricultural productivity and examine country specific and time specific deviations. Empirical findings are expected to provide policy implications and suggestions for future agricultural policy design.Publication Metadata only Aiming The Best or Good Enough and Perception of Service Quality(2011) Arıker, Çağla; Baysal, Ayşe Can; 116171; 10079Publication Metadata only Alevis in Turkish Politics(2011) Bilgili, Nazlı Çağın; Çarkoğlu, Ali; 112265; 125588Publication Metadata only Algılanan Mağaza Çevresi, Perakende Müşterilerinin Hissettiği Karışıklık ve Alışveriş Deneyimi İlişkisi(2018) Arıker, Çağla; Yozgat, Uğur; 116171; 3952Publication Metadata only Altı Sigma Eğitim Tasarımlarının Projelerin Performansı Üzerindeki Etkileri(2007) Şen, Ali; 152444Publication Open Access An Environmental Perspective On The Organic Food Market In Turkey(2020) Hamzaoğlu, Nazife Merve; Öztürk Göktuna, Bilge; 315872; 39638Alternative systems to the conventional agricultural system have been sought to solve problems such as environmental pollution, reduction and degradation of domestic seed species, soil erosion, reduction of animal welfare. Organic agriculture and food market constitute one of the most important alternative systems to conventional agriculture. The purpose of our study is to look into the demand for organic food in Turkey from an environmental perspective in order to understand whether organic consumption is driven by environmental friendliness and consciousness. Socio-demographic factors, attitudes and habits and contextual factors regarding environment and food consumption are analyzed together with organic food consumption patterns in order to search for the relationship of environmental consciousness on the demand side. A consumer questionnaire including questions about attitudes and habits and contextual factors regarding environment and food consumption has been designed and conducted to 251 organic food consumers living in Istanbul. Our results show that frequent organic food consumers may properly differ organic food products from other products such as GMO containing and ionized food products, strongly believe that there is a difference between organic products that are produced in Turkey and abroad in terms of quality. They are anxious about the environmental degradation and concerned about scarcity of resources, but they do not have adequate knowledge on environmental issues and sustainability.Publication Metadata only Are Generation Z Consumers Aware of the Heritage Brand Recognition of Turkish Brands Surviving Over a Century(2015) Arıker, Çağla; 116171Publication Metadata only Are the Regulations in Force in Line with the Development of ICT?(2019-11) Görkey, Selda; 40657The share of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in economies has rapidly increased globally in the last decade. This rapid expansion has resulted in emergence of new indicators on the subject. Currently, there are numerous indicators from various aspects; however, some of those are incapable to represent the recent developments in the sector. Considering the most recent indicators on the subject, this study first aims at categorizing economies into groups depending on their ICT development level. Covering a cross-section of 139 economies in 2016, it uses cluster analysis as a methodology. The indicators used are; individuals using the internet, households with a computer, households with internet access at home, active mobile broadband subscriptions, and international internet bandwidth. Since the role of regulations and the legal environment is a crucial factor for ICT development, the study then focuses on ICT regulations in force in these economies by their level of existence. After that; it compares statistical findings, and the level of regulations in these economies. The purpose of such a comparison is to track and examine the consistency between ICT development levels and regulations in force, so that necessary policies can be proposed for further research. Çalışmanın çıkış noktası ve gelişimi, Rıfat Bali’nin “Tarz-ı Hayat’tan Life Style’a Yeni Seçkinler, Yeni Mekânlar, Yeni Yaşamlar” adlı eserine dayandırılmıştır. Publication Metadata only Attitudes of the First Representatives of Generation Z toward Corporate Social Responsibility Projects and Their Purchasing Intention for Socially Responsible Companies Products(2014) Küçükaltan, Derman; Arıker, Çağla; Toksoy, Andaç; 5549; 116171; 107396Publication Open Access Avrasya Ekonomik Topluluğu, Enerji Politikası ve Ukrayna Krizi(Beta Yayınları, 2014) YESEVİ, ÇAĞLA GÜL; 140841
