Abstract

Design is a complex thinking activity that requires creative solutions. It is an activity nurtured by personal experiences, influences, training and working partnerships. The enrichment and diversification of thinking in the act of design is important for the emergence of creative design. The relationship between thinking and designer and design action is effective in creating the methods and tools used to put forward the thought. From this point of view, it is assumed that creative thinking accomplishes creative design with various tools. The research focuses on the questioning the different thinking and design tools used during space design activity. The aim of the study is to examine the creative design tools such as sketches, models, diagrams and mapping during the thinking and design action and to reveal their potential to be used in the space design process.
