Abstract

The scandals with giant firms and business, increase in the disagreements sent to the courts and insufficiency of the lawyers to settle these lawsuits cause to arise the profession of forensic accounting. While it is little known in Turkey, forensic accounting recently has become a fast growing field of accounting. Many developed countries like USA, the field of application of forensic accountancy disciplines use different today. Forensic accountants, in addition to helping judges solve the disagreements, take parts in taking recautions for frauds and crimes and setting up the systems with this aim. In general, the goal of this thesis, to give information about the profession of forensic accountancy and the findings related to access to the profession. In addition, forensic accountancy profession in Turkey and the world situation, applications, case examples, the growth potential of the reflections seen in the media has been revealed. Some of the conclusions reached at the end of working with the information obtained.
