Power...is the triangulation point of human?s existence in the universe. It makes human life meaningful by holding the power in his hand. In three novels dealt in this study, universal conflict characters experience during when they give meaning to their existence constitutes the backbone of the novel. In the novel ?Bir Kadının Penceresi?, Filiz?s existence struggle of against her oppressor husband, in ?Danaburnu? existence story of Emine, who remains on the background because her existence is obscure like her tragedy, Recep?s struggle to survive by imposing her manhood with role the society gives him, in all of them struggle to live with power is dealt with. In William Shakespeare?s King Lear, and Oktay Rifat?s Mr. Lear, King Lear and Ferruh Sarıbay are like this respectively. If you protect power both in youth and agedness, then the castles of your existence is powerful. In my work, I discuss the problems resulting from this conflict because this conflict existed before, exist and will exist in the future and because power means to live. Shakespeare also deals with this theme and Oktay Rıfat do too. For his novel Oktay Rıfat puts a name similar to that of W.Sheakespeare did for King Lear and dealt with the same theme and universality. However, when manner of telling is different, then you cannot talk about similarity or sameness at all. Oktay Rıfat, who has something to say in genres such as poem, painting, theatre and criticism, wrote three novels in which he tried contemporary telling opportunities after he was sixty. In this work, Oktay Rifat?s life story, literary character, his pluralist manner of telling, especially in Bay Lear, his technique of stream of consciousness is dealt with. Pluralist manner of telling which is suitable to cognitive stratified life process of an old person has resulted in writer?s usage of the stream of consciousness technique. Most visible feature of his works is that he does not find it enough to use poem?s rich agility, but he has also opened the way of new expressing modes in Turkish literature by turning towards rich expression artistry.en
