Abstract
Perceived spatial crowd and perceived table spacing of restaurant customers can influence satisfaction levels. Perception of spatial crowd and table spacing can differ from one individual to another. One of the variables that may result in this gap is the level of privacy need. In this context, satisfaction from the restaurant experience is also expected to vary. The objective of this research is to examine whether perception of spatial crowd, table distance and satisfaction of restaurant customers change by their level of privacy need. The results indicate that the levels of satisfaction, perception of spatial crowd and table spacing vary between customers with different levels of privacy. As a result, dividing restaurants into fields that have different characteristics in terms of spatial crowd and table distance is suggested. The main contribution of this study is to suggest restaurant managers creating a new approach for space management that satisfy individual privacy needs of different customer clusters and increase the satisfaction levels.
