Abstract
Yeme-içme sektörü, ülkemizde büyüyen sektörler
arasında yeralır. Bununla beraber, tüketicinin restoran seçim
kriterlerinin ve bu kriterleri etkileyen faktörlerin
incelenmesinde eksiklikler olduğu görülebilir. Tüketicilerin
restoran seçiminde kullandıkları seçim kriterleri ile
demografik özellikleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koyan bir
araştırmanın, restoran yöneticilerine önemli fayda sağlayacağı
düşünülmektedir. Bu nedenle, tüketicilerin restoran seçiminde
kullandıkları seçim kriterleri ile demografik özellikleri
arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymayı amaçlayan bir araştırma
gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla, araştırma örneğini oluşturan
bireylerin, restoran seçimi yapacağı bir web sitesi
tasarlanmıştır. Katılımcılar, restoran seçimi yapmak amacıyla
web sitesini kullanmış ve seçim kriterlerini belirtmişlerdir.
Elde edilen verilere, Ki-Kare Bağımsızlık Analizleri
uygulanarak, restoran seçim kriterleri ve demografik özellikler
arasındaki potansiyel ilişki test edilmiştir. Elde edilen
sonuçlara göre, tüketicilerin restoran seçim kriterlerinin bir
bölümü ile demografik özellikleri arasında bir ilişki olduğu
söylenebilir
Although the food and beverage sector has been growing continously in Turkey, almost no research has been conducted on the restaurant choice criteria of consumers and the factors that affect their choice. Examining the relationship between the restaurant choice criteria of consumers that are taken into consideration when selecting a restaurant and their demographic characteristics could provide important benefit for restaurant managers. For this reason, a research with the aim of finding the potential relationship between restaurant choice criteria of consumers and the demographic characteristics was conducted. A web site was designed in order to choose restaurants through a process that includes clarification of the restaurant choice criteria by each of the participants. The potential relationship between the restaurant choice criteria and the demographic characteristics was tested by applying Chi-Square Test of Independence. It was concluded that there is a relationship between some of the restaurant choice criteria and some of the demographic characteristics of consumers according to the test results.
