Muhammed'in Işk-nâmesi üzerine dil incelemesi

Abstract

Most of the historical texts that were exposed to the analyses of literary historians have been published without an awareness of their linguistic aspects and thus remained devoid of the contributions of the linguistic studies. This study, therefore, is an attempt to analyse the formal and linguistic aspects of Işık-Name which was translated into modern Turkish by Sedit Yüksel. The first part of the study aims at elucidating the main characteristics of Old Anatolian Turkish taking the Işık- Name of Muhammed as the target text to trace the formal traits of the language of the time. This part of the study approaches the language under the titles of inflectional verbs and inflectional nouns. Muhammed?s Işık-Name has been taken as the target text to compare and contrast Modern and Old Anatolian Turkish?s grammatical traits to humbly contribute to the lingusitic studies of Turkish.
