dc.descriptionThe Internet is the latest in a series of technological breakthroughs in interpersonal communication, following the telegraph, telephone, radio, and television. It combines innovative features of its predecessors, such as bridging great distances and reaching a mass audience This increased usage of the mobile internet may also indicate that there is an increase in the use of smartphone and social media. most people can be contacted constantly and instantly via the mobile phone (and laptop computers). Whether it is through a text message, a phone call, an email or social media network many would probably feel obliged to be available for their peers as to uphold the social connection. This may imply that people are becoming increasingly dependent on ICT technologies. Therefore the task of this thesis is to elaborate on the discussion that mobile internet usage has a social influence on smartphone users. To study the phenomenon we conduct both quantitative and qualitative methods will be used in the research questioner will be conducted on a segment of the youth in Somalia mobile internet users. The findings from the analysis are discussed theoretically and will be compared to other studies done on mobile internet usage and mobile internet penetrations in the African continent and as well we will analyze the services provided by the leading telecom company in Somalia to study how the youth are getting the mobile internet and how they benefit from it.tr_TR
dc.description.abstractİnternet kişilerarası iletişimde telgraf, telefon, radyo ve televizyondan sonra gelen bir dizi teknolojik buluşların en sonuncusudur. Öncesinde gelen araçların büyük kitlelere ulaşma ve çok uzak mesafeler arasında köprüler kurmak gibi yenilikçi özelliklerini internet bir araya getirir. Akıllı telefon ve sosyal medyanın kullanımındaki artış ayrıca mobil internetin artan kullanımı olarak gösterilebilir. Çoğu insan mobil telefon (ve laptop bilgisayarlar) vasıtasıyla sürekli ve anında bağlantıya geçebilmektedir. İster mesaj göndererek, arayarak ister email ya da sosyal medyayla olsun çoğu insan akranları için sosyal bağlantılarını sürdürmeye dair ulaşılabilir olma zorunluluğu hisseder. Bu durum insanların ICT teknolojilerine giderek daha bağımlı olduklarını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu tezin amacı akıllı telefon kullanıcıları üzerinde sosyal etkiye sahip mobil internet kullanımını detaylıca incelemektir. Araştırmayı çalışmak için hem kalitatif hem kantitatif metodlar kullanılacaktır. Araştırmacı Somali bölgesinde mobil internet kullanan gençlerin bir kısmını ele almaktadır. Analizden elde edilen bulgular teorik olarak tartışılacak ve Afrika kıtasında mobil internet hakimiyeti ve mobil internet kullanımı üzerine yapılmış diğer çalışmalarla karşılaştırılacaktır. Ayrıca gençlerin nasıl mobil internet hizmetleri aldığını incelemek için Somali bölgesindeki önde gelen telekom şirketlerince sunulan hizmetler analiz edilecektir.tr_TR
