Abstract

The purpose of our study throughout which we accept the content of television news as ?discourse? is; to question the realistic and objective aspects of TV news; to study how the place of TV companies in political and cultural structure correlates with their broadcasting concept, in a broader sense how it affects the formation of their broadcastingpolicy; and to make the terminology and conception processes of the news obvious using discourse analysis method. In the first of this study, the elements of news, the characteristics of TV news broadcasting and the first few years of its history have been revised. Reality, newness, attraction, importance and comprehensibility of piece of news have beeb taken into consdiration as subtitles in the elements of news section. In the second part, media researches tradition by quantitative and quality methodology are compared. Professional journalism principles are considered with a critical point of view. Psychology, post-structualism, Marxist ?subject? concept are emphasized, stressed character of sign is explicated. In the last part, how the news about March of the Republic was edited (fictoned) and broadcasted by three different TV channel is defined with the similarities and differences. During this study, a news text is analyzed with deduction method. Shots, news texts, news headlines and statistical datas were used to make the analysis more clear and the united structure of news elements is undertaken.
