Kütüphane Organizasyonları ve Kütüphane Personelinin Motivasyon Kaynakları - Bir uygulama

Abstract

Libraries are the organizations which aims to collect, to store and to distribute the available knowledge. It is essential to maintain highly motivated employees to increase the efficiency of libraries. Library staff are in charge of delivering the service and establishing the perfect communication with customers. Motivation, in this respect, is the key element to give the qualfied service and to create the customer loyalty. This study; therefore, aims to determine the sources of motivation of library employees. In the first part, has been elabarated the available structure of the libraries in comparison to the term business economics. In this respect, this part has also tried to prove that libraries can be classified as parts of service sector. In the second part, it has been searched the organizational structure of libraries and accordinly the determining factors of a library organization have been identified. In the third part, it has been handed the motivotional theories together with possible sources of motivation. Finally in the fourth part has been aimed to search what the motivation sources of library staff could be by referring to the finalings of a questionnaire applied on university library, school library, public library, national library and special library staff.
