Abstract

Tv series are indispensibles of televison programmes. TV series that take a large place recently seem to be high in rating. Different narrative structures and the acting of the actors and actresses are the reasons for this much sucsess of the TV series.The roles attributed to the characters in the TV series create images and the audience find the reflection of themselves within these images inanother words audience integrate with these images. Images of men are created according to theTurkish patriarchal family structure and social gender prejudices. These images are sometimes adequate with the traditional structure and they sometimes take place with the modern characters who are appropriate with the modernization process of the society. In this study, how images of men take place in TV series are analyzed.
