2010 Avrupa Kültür Başkenti Kapsamında, Kültür ve Sanat Projelerinin Sosyolojik Yapı İçerisindeki Yeri ve Etkilerinin Araştırılması İncelenmesi

Abstract

In this report, the process which led Istanbul to the stage as `?2010 European Culture Capital?? and the impact of the cultural-art projects on sociological structure that have been carried out in this respect until May, 2010 have been analysed. A short description of culture and art concepts which refers to the status of these concepts in our time have been done. Also dimensions of management of art and Partnership and Sponsor models have been mentioned. The European culture and Turkey?s cultural interaction with Europe and Culture Politics in Turkey are examined and evaluated. After the description of the concept ?European Culture Capital?, the reasons of why Istanbul has been chosen as ?the European Culture Capital?? have been examined in the frame of the city?s existing cultural values, improvement in culture and art and the city?s civic transformation. After examining the choosing stages of Istanbul as 2010 European Culture Capital, the transformation of other European Culture Capitals, Pecs and Essen have been explained. In the last chapter, four institutions (Agency of 2010 European Culture Capital, Istanbul Culture Art Foundation, Culture A.S, Cultural Contact Point) which play an active role in the process of Istanbul?s European Culture Capitalism have been introduced and the cultural and art projects carried out by these institutions have been explained by virtue of numerical data?s for each discipline and their impact on sociological structure have been evaluated with examples.
