Publication Restricted A Novel Multistage CAD System for Breast Cancer Diagnosis(Springer London Ltd., 2023) Karacan, Kübra; UYAR, TEVFİK; Tunga, Burcu; Tunga, M. AlperComputer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems are widely used to diagnose breast cancer using mammography screening. In this research, we proposed a new multistage CAD system based on image decomposition with High-Dimensional Model Representation (HDMR) which is a divide-and-conquer algorithm. We used digital mammograms from Digital Database for Screening Mammography as dataset. We neglected BIRADS classification and used a brand-new clustering based on HDMR constant and breast size. To find the best performance of HDMR-based CAD system, we compared different pre-processing settings such as contrast enhancement with CLAHE and HDMR, feature extraction with HDMR, feature scaling, dimension reduction with Linear Discriminant Analysis. We used several Machine Learning algorithms and measured the performance of proposed system for normal-benign-malign classification, cancer detection, mass detection and found that the proposed system achieves 66%, 71% and 87% accuracy, respectively. We were able to achieve 92% accuracy, 100% sensitivity and 91% specificity in specific clusters. These results are comparable with deep learning-based methods although we simplified the pipeline and used brand-new HDMR-based processes.Publication Restricted Stress Management and Psychological Resilience of Healthcare Workers: The Role of Job Satisfaction, Job Performance, and Continuance Commitment(SIPISS- Edizioni FS Publishers, 2024) Alay, Hazal Koray; Ozturk, Emine; DEVECİYAN, MERİ TAKSİIntroduction: The purpose of this study is to examine the role of job satisfaction, job performanceand continuance commitment in the relationship between psychological resilience and stresmanagement among healthcare workers at İstanbul province public hospitals, in Turkey. Methods: As the data collection and analysis method in this research, a cross-sectional study desigwas used on a sample of 848 healthcare workers. A simple random sampling method was used tcollect data. Data were evaluated using IBM’s statistical program SPSS Statistics 26.0 and HayeProcess Macro statistical program. In the research, data were examined using frequency analysisexplanatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regressioanalysis. Result: The research's findings indicate that stress management, psychological resilience, josatisfaction, and job performance are significantly correlated. There is no statistically significancorrelation between continuance commitment and other variables. Discussion: The psychological resilience of health workers is effective on job performance. It iemphasized that the job performance of health workers can help them to have a better level opsychological resilience both personally and professionally. Healthcare workers with high joperformance tend to have a more positive relationship with their jobs, which may increase theicapacity to cope with stress. Stress management is very important, as healthcare professionals do noaccept mistakes and have high risks while providing services. For this reason, stress managemenpractices can be developed to alleviate the difficulties of working conditions in institutions anincrease psychological resilience. Take-home message: This study can be an important source of information to support healthcarworkers-especially nurses and midwives-to have a better working environment and to cope witstress more effectively. It is recommended that the effect of employees' continuance commitment bexamined in detail in future studies. © 2024 by the authors.Publication Restricted What is the Role of Sustainability in the Relationship between Green Transformational Leadership and Firm Performance?(INT, Journal Contemporary Economics & Administrative Sciences, 2024) Alay, Hazal Koray; Keskin, Abdulkadir; Şen, Gülaçtı; DEVECİYAN, MERİ TAKSİThe aim of the research is to understand the relationship between green transformational leadership and firm performance, evaluating the role of sustainability strategies in this connection. Increasing global environmental issues and social inequalities necessitate companies to prioritize sustainability principles not only for financial concerns but also because of green transformation. In this context, focusing on the role of sustainability strategies is the main objective of the research. Quantitative research methods, specifically the cross-sectional survey method, were employed for data collection and analysis. A sample of 391 whitecollar employees working in companies operating in Turkey was determined using the convenience sampling method. The data collected through surveys was analyzed using the AMOS 24 statistical program. The findings indicate that green transformational leadership is influential on firm performance, environmental sustainability, and economic sustainability. Additionally, economic sustainability was found to play a mediating role in the relationship between green transformational leadership and firm performance. It is expected that the findings obtained will provide a significant foundation for business leaders, guiding them in the development of sustainability-based strategies.
