Publication Open Access Çağdaş Mimari Yapılarda Seramik Panolar Ve Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Kongre Ve Kültür Merkezi Uygulaması(The Turkish Online Journal of Design Art and Communication, 2014-10) Gül, Saliha Nesli; Özkeçeci, İlhan; Alacalı, Hakan; TR125778; TR9911; TR121257Ceramic panels which are produced for decorative purposes, constitute an integral part of architectural design. The use of ceramic in architectural buildings which can be dated back to the Seljuks period in Turkey, especially the productions of ceramics after 1950 go on until today with modernist approaches. Ceramic panel practices mostly take place in the inner and outer surfaces of cultural centres, hotels, company, religious and social buildings and structures. In this article, samples in contemporary architecture of ceramic panel practices are examined in detail including composition designs and surface patterns of ceramic panels. As in the category of modern ceramic practices, artworks of Jale Yilmabasar, Fureya Koral, Sadi Diren, Beril Anilanmert, Mustafa Tuncalp and Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu are analyzed in terms of aesthetics. In this study, by analyzing the examined ceramic panels practices, ceramic panel practices in YTU Congress and Culture Centre is produced in a modernist style, reflecting the original methods including the aesthetic and design process of the practices is evaluated.Publication Open Access Etkinlik Yönetimi Uygulamalarında Yaratıcı Rekabet Ve Sosyal Medyanın Entegrasyonu(The Turkish Online Journal of Design Art and Communication, 2014-10) Akay, Rafet Aykut; TR115526Events are one of the most important and preferred practices of public relations discipline. The importance of event practices rises everyday with the opportunities of improving technology, and becomes much more preferable. Events becoming an important tool leads a growth in the number of event agencies, which results in a big sector special to events. There is also a challenging competition between the event agencies in the growing event sector. Diversity, which comes as a result of the growth in event sector and improvements in technology, brings extraordinary and creative dimensions to event practices. Social media networks, which are improving very fast especially on the last few years, become a very important and entertaining base for event practices, and social media and digital platforms also become much more usable. Outside of the real world, where this face to face communication is established, the mass media, especially the Internet are where children spend most of their time, even in the form of dependence, the so-called Internet addiction sometimes. Children use the Internet mostly for homeworks and research, chatting with friends, listening music, fun, watching educational videos, gaming, and recreation in social media websites. Unscrupulous publishing of the websites and difficulty in controlling the Internet pose a risk, particularly for primary-school children. Children are able to access websites with the elements of violence or sexually explicit photos easily because of unconscious use and the indifference of parents. The aim of this study is to reveal why eighth graders use the Internet and the risks of this usage, to uncover the awareness of families in protecting their children against risks, and to find out the importance of Internet literacy through survey method.Publication Open Access Markaların Sosyal Medya Kullanımının Tüketici Davranışı Üzerindeki Etkileri(The Turkish Online Journal of Design Art and Communication, 2014-10) Aytan, Cansu; Telci, Emine Eser; TR121898With the development of the technology, Internet usage became a habit in everyday life which made the social media indispensable. Social media lets users to get in touch with other users via interactive communication. Users that share every moment and experience of their daily life, are being effective on other consumers’ behaviors and manners towards the created brand image with the content that they share. As a result, brands are shaping their brand images and consumers’ attitudes towards themselves, by using social media marketing and taking care of consumer requests. At this point, consumers may purchase products, being affected with the contents and attitude towards the brand image formed by the social media users and brands’ themselves. In this study; brands' social media usage and its effects on consumer attitudes and behavior have been investigated. At the theoretical section of the study; a thorough literature review is conducted on social media, social media marketing, brand image, brand attitude, and consumer behavior. Then, during the research process, a survey on the effects of brands' social media usage on consumers is prepared and has been responded by 465 social media users. With the analysis of the given answers, it has been established that the brands’ uses of social media have been identified to influence consumers' behavior.Publication Open Access Modern Yaşamın Göstergelerinden Yüksek Binalarda Renk - Işık Faktörü Bağlamında “Hasta Bina Sendromu” Ve İletişimsel Boyutta Etkileri(The Turkish Online Journal of Design Art and Communication, 2014-10) Zeybek, Işıl; TR141147The enormous high-rises, plazas, residences and towers that have encapsulated urban living space, are smart structures that are constructed for either personal, social or for business purposes. If we are to assume that more than half of one’s daily practices, movements and routines take place within enclosed walls, then it is safe to say that these spaces have a significant role in the social process. These spaces, which are designed to facilitate the high pace and high speed of one’s daily life, also appear before us as structures that threaten our health and productivity. In other words, they affect effective and efficient interaction amongst human beings negatively and cause communication conflicts due to their unfavorable impact on a psychological and psycho-neurological level. Hence, these impressive, grandiose and imposing buildings are, in fact, damaging and unhealthy lifestyle indicators; a kind of ‘sickness’ which scientists active in different fields have been discussing. This ‘sickness’ has been named “Sick Building Syndrome”, or “Middle Class Sickness”. As well as photographing of paintings, ceramics, chinas, photographs of the most valuable architectural structures are important.Turkey is the most important countries in the world in terms of having Mimar Sinan Mosques which are most rare examples of Turkish Islamic Architecture. But there is still not any institution that contains photographs of Mimar Sinan’s artefacts, performing systematic photographies or sharing of these datas. However, large majority of the researchers needs these kind of visual datas. Relating to the past as well as current status of the mosque photos always required by researchers. Largest sources for history on this topic ,photos of taken with their own means art historians like Oktay Aslanapa. These photos provide great opportunities to researchers on both mosques and their environments. However, the provision of this photographs is very difficult because of personal archives. They put in their book is limited by one or two photos. In this article will be mentioned Mimar Sinan books published in Turkey and the photos situated in this books. Until the early years of Turkish Republic to present day, many boks have been published on Mimar Sinan contains a single structure or his monographs. Most of the photographs in this boks are anonymous or taken by art historians. However, since 1970s in collaboration with art historians and photographers have photographed to provide a more aesthetic view of Sinan’s structures. Another area where the photographs of the artifacts of Mimar Sinan is Internet. Today’s internet opportunities are faced with very intense photographic reserve. However, how can be used and satisfying are these photographs in terms of art historians and other researchers? In this section of article, photographs of Mimar Sinan artifacts will be explored in today’s Internet environment. In the last section, the scientific project name is An Esthetical Analysis of Decorative Elements in Various Ottoman Architectural Works in İstanbul (China-Engraving-Wood-Stone-Marble Pattern, Kaligrafi Compozition) which is systematic photographic project consist of Mimar Sinan’s artefacts’s decoration like engraving, china, wood will be discussed. Photo shoot in the project was carried out today’s latest digital photo techniques. Shootings began with general schemes to show the location of the mosque. After the genral photographs of general structure, focused on decorations such as wood, china, calligraphy located in mosques.
