Baba, Oğul ve Kadın: Şecere-i Terâkime’deki Kozı Tekin Anlatısı Hakkında Bir Okuma Denemesi

Abstract

In the study, the narration of Kozi Tegin in Secere Terakime is discussed within its fiction and narrative layers, and the text is analyzed in terms of its discourse of power. Secere Terakime text and Kazan Oguzname, in which a significant part of this text is repeated, are the primary sources. The text in Reshideddin Oguzname is a very important resource for comparison since it is a different version of the narration highlighting unique details. The difference between the parallel narration plays an important role in terms of the text-author-reader relationship. The narrative of the father falling in love with his son’s wife has been the subject of many ancient tellings. In this study, this fictional phenomenon is examined in light of the government's display of power and rationalization mechanics. Firstly this study will focus on the narrator’s voice, and then it will discuss the narration elements in the basis of state power. The Avshar girl, who appears as an element of rebellion in the narrative, plays a dominant role as an individual against the power of the state. Words such as “za’ife (weak women) kedḫudā (lord of the house) and “to take” reflect the masculine aspect of power. Square and the phenomenon of punishment take place in the story as the fundamental displays of power.
