Psikoloji Biliminin Sanatsal Çalışmalar İle İlişkisi Bağlamında Bipolar Bozukluğun Ekspresyonizm’in Öncüsü Vincent Van Gogh’un Eserleri Üzerinden İncelenmesi

Abstract

Psikolojinin; ruh bilimi olarak da tanımlanması, bir sanat eserinin; yaratımı süresince, eserin yaratıcısı olan sanatçının; ruhsal durumunun, yaşanmışlıklarının izinin ve hayata bakış açısının toplamı olarak incelenebilmesi ve okunabilmesinin ne denli doğru olduğunu kanıtlar niteliktedir. Sanat eserlerinin doğru okunabilmesindeki en temel gereklilikler bu nedenle; eseri yaratan sanatçının yaşamına dair bilgiler, sanatçının ruhsal süreçleri ve sanatçının üslubu olarak sıralanabilir. Bu çalışma; psikoloji ile insan ruhunun en öz ve en somut yansımalarından biri olarak nitelendirilebilecek sanat eserleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Birçok farklı disiplinde sanat eserlerine yansıyan psikolojiyi; en belirgin örnekler ile çalışmaya yansıtmak adına, çalışmanın sınırlılıkları kapsamında; resim sanatındaki ekspresyonizm akımının öncüsü Vincent Van Gogh ve 7 eseri ile sanatçının bu eserlere yansıyan duygu durumunun çözümlemesi olarak özetlenebilir. Dışavurumculuk; sanatçının konuyu eserine duygu durumunu katarakyansıtmasıdır. Bipolar bozukluk ise mani anındaki coşkuyla çökkünlük anındaki depresyonun uç noktalarda olduğu, alevlenme ve yatışmalarla seyreden ruhsal bir rahatsızlıktır. Vincent Van Gogh ’un yaşamının büyük bir kesitini bizlere aktaran, intiharından iki yıl önceye dek on yedi yıl boyunca kardeşi Theo ’ya yazdığı mektuplar referans alınarak, sanatçının duygu durumu gözlemlenmiş ve bu iniş çıkışların sanat eserlerine ne doğrultuda yansıdığı incelenmiştir.Yapılan inceleme, sanat eserlerinin doğru okunabilmesi için gerekli olduğunu belirttiğimiz maddelere, psikoloji biliminin de eklenmesi gerekliliğini göstermektedir. Bu ise psikoloji ile sanatsal çalışmalar arasındaki ilişkinin ne denli irdelenmeye değer bir konu olduğunun göstergesidir. Çalışmada çözümlemesi yapılmak üzere seçilen eserler şunlardır: İncilli Natürmort, Hüzün, Gri Keçe Şapkalı Otoportre, Hasır Şapkalı Otoportre, Gece Kahvesi, Kafe Teras ’da Gece, Daubigny ’nin Bahçesi.Psychology is also defined as the science o f mind so it can prove that it is so important to observe and read the artist' state o f mind as a sum o f his life experiences and the view o f life during the creation o f work. For this reason, the most basic requirements for the correct reading o f art works can be organized as; the information about the life o f the artist who created the art, the spiritual processes o f the artist and the style o f the artist. This work aims to reveal the relationship between psychology and works o f art that can be described as one o f the essence and most concrete reflections o f the human soul. To reflect psychology, which is reflected in works o f art in many different disciplines, with the most obvious examples to the work within the limitations o f working; Vincent Van Gogh, the forerunner o f the expressionism movement in the art o f painting, and his seven works can be summarized as the analysis o f the artist ’ emotional state reflected in these works.Expressionism is that the artist reflects the subject by adding his/her emotions on the work. Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that is at the extremities o f the depression at the moment o f mania, which is seen with the exacerbations and calm-ability. Vincent Van Gogh’s emotional state and how these rise andfalls were reflected to his work were examined by the letters he wrote to his brother Theo for seventeen years. The examination shows that he science of psychology is required to be added to the materials requiredfor the correct readability of the artworks, as well. This also shows that the relationship between psychology and artistic work is worth for being examined. The works selected for analysis of the study are: Still Life with Open Bible, Extunguished Candle and Novel, Sorrow, Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat, Self-Portrait with Strow Hat, Cafe Terrace at Night, The Night Cafe, Daubigny’s Garden.
