Kovid-19 Salgınının Evde Kalma Sürecinde, Çocuk ve Ebeveynlerin Kontrol Edilemeyen Öfke ve Şiddet Davranışlarına Etkileri

Abstract

Covid-19 Outbreak continues to spread in our country and all around the world. Experts suggest that one of the most important measures to be taken to combat the outbreak is isolation. The successful implementation of quarantine, which is a protective public health measure, is only possible by minimizing its negative effects. World Health Organization and the United Nations report that domestic violence, divorce and criminal cases have increased in China, Italy, Spain, France and similarly in Turkey. According to Istanbul Police Department, domestic violence increased by 38.2% compared to March last year. It is important to examine the effect of quarantine on uncontrollable anger and violence behaviors in order to take necessary measures. The routines of many people, especially children, have changed. Individuals feel frustrated because of many reasons such as distance work, distance education, job and income loss, fear of infection, inability to socialize, uncertainty, deaths etc. The severity of frustration during the stay predicts uncontrollable anger and violent behavior. Although individuals’ social, economic and educational levels differentiate these reactions, the extraordinary process requires creating new routines and a different adaptation process.
