Film afişleri tasarımında göstergeler: Prof. Yurdaer Altıntaş'ın film afişleri çözümleme örneği

Abstract

Semiotics, which we can see in every aspect of life, is defined as a discipline which analyzes, and classifies the signs that help people communicate with each other dealing with various meaningful unities. Not only do signs explicitly convey the meaning to audience but they also transfer it in an indirect and implicit way. Posters, which go through with communication, are a product of graph design, thanks to their semiotic elements and visual contents. The message which is intended to be transferred is conveyed to the receiver in a simple, effective and catchy way since posters aim to convey the message briefly because of the place they are exhibited in. In this study, movie posters which have been randomly chosen from the work: ?İnadına Yurdaer? by Yurdaer Altıntaş are analyzed. Not only the discursive and technical aspects but also the interpretation of signs are studied. As a result of these analyses, it is possible to make conclusions on Altıntaş's "symbolist" style.
