Firmaların Kârlılık Belirleyicileri: Borsa İstanbul’a (BIST) Kayıtlı Lojistik Firmaları Üzerine Bir Panel Veri Analizi

Abstract

Türkiye’de lojistik sektörünün GSYH içerisindeki payının %12 oranında olduğu kabul edilmektedir. Ödemeler dengesi kalemlerinden Hizmetler Dengesi başlığı altıda bulunan Taşımacılık kalemi altında özellikle yolcu taşımacılığının yanı sıra navlun ve diğer taşımacılık başlıklarında 2013 yılı itibariyle gözlemlenen gelir kalemlerinin gider kalemlerinden yüksek gerçekleşmesi durumuyla sektörün ülke ekonomisine katkı sağladığı görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın amacı 2014 – 2020 dönemleri arasında Borsa İstanbul’da işlem gören lojistik firmalarının kârlılığını etkileyen faktörleri belirlemektir. İlgili amaç doğrultusunda sekiz adet lojistik firması çalışma kapsamına dâhil edilmiştir. Firma kârlılığı özelinde incelenen lojistik şirketlerine ait aktif kârlılığı ve özsermaye kârlılığı oranları ilgili firmaların dönem sonu yıllık finansal tablolarından elde edilmiş olup ekonometrik analiz yöntemi olarak Panel Veri Regresyon Analizi kullanılmıştır. Kârlılık üzerinde etkisi olduğu düşünülen değişkenler temel finansal rasyolardan aktif büyüklüğü, cari oran, alacak devir hızı ve kaldıraç oranı olarak ele alınmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre aktif büyüklüğü ve alacak devir hızı değişkenlerinin aktif kârlılığı üzerinde istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Diğer yandan cari oran ve aktif büyüklüğü değişkenlerinin ise özsermaye kârlılığı üzerinde anlamlı bir değişime yol açtığı tespit edilmiştir.

In Turkey, the logistics sector is considered to be 12% of its share in GDP. It has been observed that the sector contributes to the country's economy, as income items observed in freight and other transportation, especially in passenger transportation, are higher than expense items, as of 2013, under the Transportation item under the Balance of Services item, which is one of the balance of payments items. The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the profitability of logistics firms traded in Borsa Istanbul between 2014 and 2020. Eight logistics firms were included in the scope of the study in line with the relevant purpose. Return on assets and return on equity ratios of logistics firms, which were examined specifically for company profitability, were obtained from the period-end annual financial statements of the relevant companies, and Panel Data Regression Analysis was used as the econometric analysis method. Variables that are thought to have an impact on profitability are considered as asset size, current ratio, receivables turnover and leverage ratio, which are among the main financial ratios. According to the findings, it has been seen that the variables of asset size and receivable turnover have a statistically significant effect on the return on assets. On the other hand, it has been determined that the current ratio and asset size variables cause a significant change on the return on equity.
