Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between organizational commitment and psychological well-being. Another purpose of the study is to examine whether there is significant difference between these variables in terms of sex, age, seniority, educational background, teaching institution and professional experience. The research data is gathered from the teachers working in state schools in a district of Bursa province. The questionnaires are applied to 159 teachers who are having courses between 1st and 12th grades. After analyzing the data, it has been found out that male's normative and emotional commitment level is significantly superior than that of female's. When it is analyzed if there is a difference in organizational commitment level and its subgroups related to the institutions of teachers, it is observed that there is significant difference between the subgroups of emotional commitment and normative commitment. At the end of the study, it is observed that male teachers' mean scores in autonomy and environmental dominance is significantly higher than female teachers' mean scores. It is also observed that teachers with master's degree have higher mean scores than the teachers with bachelor's degree in the subgroup of positive relationships with others.
