Dreams, which are a product of the human brain, have had a great impact on many branches of art, including cinema. Moreover, the art of cinema has been claimed to be a dream-producing factory. The scientific and comprehensive study of dreams became possible only towards the end of the 19th century with the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud. Freud mainly concentrated on the human unconscious, and his writings had a great influence on generations that followed. From that period on, nearly all studies, analyses, and interpretations done on dreams have mentioned and referenced Freud. After Freud, there have been many antitheses to his theories and he has been widely criticized. In this study, the relationship between cinema and dream will be examined through a psychoanalytic analysis of the Holywood movie "Inception" (2010).en
