We wanted to make a H-alpha filter in order to do astronomical observations with the Schmidt- Cassegrain 8 inches LX-200 model telescope located in our school. We designed our filter by Zemax-EE design software at 6563 Angstron wavelenght which equals to Balmer series of Hydrogen’s a radiation line. In design Fabry-Perot dielectric filter system is used. Fabry-Perot filters can be identified as an interval that is between two high-reflective layers. In our filter, high-reflective laminars are obtained by combining nine dielectric layers. Layers are made of high and low refracted indexed materials at quarter wavelenght. As the high refracted indexed material, TiO2 (titaniumdioxide) and as the low refracted indexed material SiO2 (silisiumdioxide) are used. RG10 cut-off glass is used as the conveyor. Design is applied with Denton Integrity 44 High-Vacuumed Optical Coating System and control measurements are done with the SHİMADZU UV_2101/3101 PC spectrophotometer which is available in our school.en
