Publication Metadata only Molecular Mechanics Studies of Antihypertensive Val-Tyr Dipeptide(Asian Journal Of Chemistry, 11/100 Rajendra Nagar, Sector 3,, Sahibabad 201 005, Ghaziabad, India, 2010-01) Akverdieva, G. A.; Godjayev, N. M.; Doğan, N. E.; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; TR10127; TR111424The spatial structure of anti hypertensive dipeptide,Valine-Tyrosine was investigated within molecular mechanics framework. It ha, been shown that the molecule has such a structural organization which does not exclude the realization of two types of conformation: folded and extended. The energy and geometrical parameters for the optimal conformations of dipeptide are obtained. The electronic characteristics for these structures were analyzed by quantum chemical calculations.Publication Metadata only Radioisotope Excited X Ray Fluorescence Analysis of Ashes From Coal Power Plants of Turkey(Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1998-01) Başsarı, A.; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; 10127Fifteen ash samples taken from filters and bottom products of boilers or chimneys of seven coal fired power plants in Turkey have been analysed quantitatively for some minor elements using radioisotope energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF). It is found that samples contain Cu, Zn, Rb, Sr, Zr, Mo, Cs, Sb, Ba, Pb, Y, La, Ce, Nd and Sm in different amounts. An ash sample taken from the electro-filter of the Ambarli, fuel oil fired-power plant was also analysed for comparison and found that it contained the smallest amount of potentially toxic elements.Publication Metadata only Ft-Ir And Edxrf Analysis Of Wall Paintings Of Ancient Ainos Hagia Sophia Church(Elsevier Science Bv, Po Box 211, 1000 Ae Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2009-04-30) Başaran, Sait; Kocabaş, I.; Güleç, A.; Çeşmeli, H.; Uçar, B.; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; TR10127; TR111424The wall paintings of ancient Ainos Hagia (Saint) Sophia Church were investigated by FT-IR and EDXRF spectroscopy. Calcite, aragonite, gypsum, and quartz were detected in all the samples. Feldspar phases and pigments were inferred from both band component analysis and the second derivative profiles of the IR spectra. The black, dark brown, and red colouration was due to different concentrations of MnO2, Mn2O3, magnetite, and haematite. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V. The 5-ClU is a thymine antagonist and has some antitumor properties. The comparison of the vibrational spectra of the adsorbed 5-ClU with those of the free molecule provided data on the nature and characteristics of the clay organic complexes. The intercalation of 5-ClU within montmorillonite has been shown by X-ray diffraction to increase the interlayer spacing. Vibrational spectroscopy indicates that adsorbed 5-ClU molecules on montmorillonite are coordinated to exchangeable cations, directly or indirectly through water bridges.Publication Metadata only Investigations of the historic textiles excavated from Ancient Ainos (Enez - Turkey) by multiple analytical techniques(Elsevier Science Bv, Po Box 211, 1000 Ae Amsterdam, Netherlands, 2014-09-05) Çakan, Banu; Başaran, Sait; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; 10127; 53588Some metal ornamented textile specimens and a textile button, excavated from Ancient Ainos (Enez Turkey), have been investigated using FTIR and EDXRF spectrometry, for the purpose of material identification. FTIR spectral results indicated that textiles were made from partially degummed Bombyx mod silk. The IR spectral investigation of the textile button revealed that some cellulose fillings were used inside the button. The EDXRF analysis of the metal ornaments showed that they were silver plated copper. Surface morphology of the textiles and the metal ornaments were investigated by SEM images. It was shown that textile fibers were highly degraded. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. Eric D.; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; 10127The FT-IR and Raman spectra are reported of M(4,4′-bipyridyl)Ni(CN)4·nG (where M = Mn, Fe, Co, Cu or Zn and G = benzene or aniline;n = 0–2) clathrates. The host structure consists of a three-dimensional rigid lattice formed by infinite polymeric layers of {M-Ni(CN)4}∞ and 4,4′-bipyridyl bridges between the metal (M) atoms of the adjacent polymeric layers. Bidentate 4,4′-bipyridyl molecules are found to be centrosymmetric in the structure.Publication Metadata only Protein Sturucture Predictions of Historical silk textiles by ATR-FTIR spectroscopy(2015) Çakan, Fatma Banu; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; Başaran, Sait; 10127; 53588Publication Metadata only FT IR EDXRF and gamma Isotopic Analyses of Ashes from Coal Fired Power Plants of Turkey(Taylor and Francis Online, 1996) Varinlioğlu, Ahmet; Köse, Abdullah; Davies, J. Eric D.; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; 10127Nine ash samples collected from five coal fired power plants of Turkey have been analysed by FT-IR, EDXRF and γ -isotopic analyses methods. IR spectroscopy together with mineralogical analysis is found to be a useful method for investigating the inorganic chemical composition of the ashes which is an inherently variable material due to differences in the inorganic chemical composition of the source coal and in ash collection. Gamma-isotopic analysis indicated that all samples contained Ra-226, U-238 and Th-232. On the other hand Cs-137 (16.3 pCi/g) was found only in the ash sample collected from the Yatağan coal fired power plant. An ash sample taken from the electro-filter of the Ambarli, a fuel oil fired-power plant of Turkey, was also analysed for comparision and found that it contained least amount of U-238.Publication Metadata only Interaction Of Isoniazid With Al(OH)(3): A DFT Study(Asian Journal Of Chemistry, 11/100 Rajendra Nagar, Sector 3,, Sahibabad 201 005, Ghaziabad, india, 2010-05) Akalın, Elif; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; TR111424; TR10127; TR46357The harmonic and anharmonic vibrational wavenumbers of isoniazid (INH) interacting with Al(OH), through the ring nitrogen have been calculated by using the density functional theory (DFT) method with Becke3Lyp functional and 6-31++G(d,p) basis set, in order to investigate coordination through the ring nitrogen effects on INH vibrational wavenumbers The total energy distributions (TED) of the vibrational modes were calculated by using scaled quantum mechanical (SQM) analysis Fundamentals were characterized by their total energy distributions Coordination sensitive modes of isoniazid were determined.Publication Metadata only FT IR and FT Raman Spectral Investigations of Anatolian Attapulgite and its Interaction with4 4 Bipyridyl(Elsevier, 1995-04-01) Davies, J. Eric D.; AKYÜZ, SEVİM; AKYÜZ, ZEKİ TANIL; 10127The adsorption of 4,4′-bipyridyl by natural attapulgite from Anatolia (Turkey) has been studied using vibrational spectroscopy. Investigations of Fourier-transform infrared and Fourier-transform Raman spectra of adsorbed 4,4′-bipyridyl indicate the presence of physical and chemical sorbed surface species. No anionic surface species has been observed. It is proposed that chemisorbed 4,4′-bipyridyl molecules are coordinated to either Lewis acidic centers or surface hydroxyls as monodentate ligands.
