A Bibliometric Analysis of Turkish Educational Sciences in the Context of Education and Science Journal
(Ozgen Korkmaz, 2025) MUHARREM, ALTUNIŞIK; Aktürk, Ahmet Oğuz
This study aims to provide a bibliometric overview of the publication and citation trends of the Education and Science Journal (ESJ), one of the most prestigious and longstanding international journals in the field of educational sciences in Türkiye, which has been in publication for 48 years since 1976. The study covers the period from 2007, when ESJ began to be indexed by Web of Science (WoS), to the present day, and it aims to provide researchers with insights and understanding specific to the journal regarding the current status and development of the field of educational sciences in Türkiye. Metadata for a total of 1270 articles published in the journal during this period were obtained from the WoS database. The study includes bibliometric analyses such as the total number of publications and citations, h-index, citations per paper, average number of citations per year, citation thresholds, and total link strength for ESJ between 2007 and 2022. In addition, the study presents visual maps that are generated on the basis of bibliometric mapping analysis conducted using VOSviewer software, including co-authorship, and co-occurrence of author keywords analyses. The results indicate that ESJ has significantly developed over time, enjoys a significant national authorship network, and that in recent years, researchers publishing in ESJ have been focusing on research topics such as action research, mixed methods, meta-analysis, middle school students, social sciences, and mathematical literacy.

Decision Support System for Store Location Selection in Retailing
(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2025) Döner, Zümra Begüm; Bütkül, Mehmet; Özcan, Tuncay; Konyalıoğlu, Aziz Kemal; APAYDIN, TUĞÇE
In the retail industry, many companies strive for excellence by increasing their productivity, aiming for more suitable target customers, etc. However, these are just a few of the examples that these companies need to consider while developing their business. Each decision must be well-analyzed and deeply investigated before execution, especially for the long-term decisions such as store location selection. For retailers, selecting an appropriate store location is rather complex due to occasion-specific micro and macro factors. Accordingly, this paper addresses this issue by, first, analyzing the literature about these factors. Then, appropriate methods are analyzed and chosen to form a structure for the suggested decision-making model. To apply these methods, which are Fuzzy AHP, TOPSIS, and set covering optimization model, a real bookstore is taken as an example with the appropriate data, and MS Excel and PYTHON are used to fully implement each method. Finally, all steps are combined to design the overall system, which acts as an information system, with its interface. Overall, this paper contains valuable insights about the retail environment, location selections and so forth. The decision support system designed in this paper should help retailers to make better location selection decisions, helping them also by reducing the amount of time and resources that they need to consume, ultimately benefiting the entire society by increasing the accessibility of goods and services.

Photochemistry of 2-Aminooxazole: A Matrix-isolation and Computational Study of a Putative Key Prebiotic Molecule
(Royal Society of Chemistry, 2025) Nunes, Cláudio M.; Viegas, Luís P.; Tripathi, Anuj; Braz, Sofia; FAUSTO, RUI
2-Aminooxazole 1 is a key intermediate in plausible prebiotic pathways to activated pyrimidine ribonucleotides. However, its photochemistry and underlying reaction mechanism remain unclear. Here, we present a combined matrix-isolation infrared spectroscopic and computational investigation of the UV-induced photochemistry of 1. Narrowband irradiation at 220 nm of 1 isolated in cryogenic Ar or N2 matrices leads mainly to 3-amino-1-formyl nitrile ylide. Minor products included 3-amino-2-formyl-2H-azirine and, most likely, two tautomeric 2-iminooxazoles. The nitrile ylide photoreverts to 1 (380 nm), whereas 2-formyl-2H-azirine photoisomerizes to imidoylketene (320 nm). Spin–flip time-dependent density functional (SF-TDDFT) computations reveal a cascade of conical intersections following excitation to the S2 state of 1, providing a mechanistic explanation for the observed C–O ring-opening and predominant formation of the nitrile ylide. Overall, these findings elucidate the photoreactivity mechanism of 2-aminooxazole and can contribute to understanding the behavior of this pivotal molecule under early Earth UV conditions.

The naa40 Deletion Is Associated with Extended Chronological Lifespan and Changes in Energy and Lipid Metabolism in Fission Yeast
(Pleiades Publishing, 2025) Çalici Z; BUSE, ÖZDEN; Tarhan Ç.
Abstract: Aging is associated with various physiological and molecular changes, including epigenetic reprogramming and metabolic remodeling. N-alpha-acetyltransferase 40 (NAA40), encoded by naa40, has emerged as a key factor connecting chromatin dynamics to cellular metabolism among epigenetic regulators. NAA40 specifically acetylates the N-termini of histones H4 and H2A, thereby influencing gene expression and maintaining the metabolic balance. In mammalian systems, the depletion of NAA40 increases intracellular acetyl-CoA levels, which impacts lipid metabolism and stress response pathways. However, the overall effects of naa40 deletion in organisms are not fully understood. In this study, we examined the functional consequences of naa40 deletion in Schizosaccharomyces pombe by analyzing changes in chronological lifespan, glucose consumption, lipid metabolism, and oxidative stress. Our findings indicate that the loss of NAA40 significantly extends the lifespan, decreases glucose utilization, alters lipid distribution, and reduces lipid peroxidation. These metabolic changes are similar to the cellular adaptations observed under calorie restriction. Our results support a model in which naa40 deletion triggers chromatin remodeling and reprograms the metabolic pathways, ultimately leading cells to a quiescent-like state characterized by increased stress resistance and extended survival. These findings underscore the importance of NAA40 as a critical link between epigenetic regulation and the mechanisms that promote metabolic longevity.
