dc.description.abstractFT-IR spectra of M(3apy)2Ni(CN)4 where M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn or Cd; 3apy = 3-aminopyridine complexes are reported for the first time in the 400–4000 cm−1 range. The spectral features suggest that the compounds are similar in structure to the Hofmann-type complexes with infinite polymeric layers formed with Ni(CN)−24 ions bridged by M(3apy)+22 cations. It is concluded that the ring nitrogen and not the amino nitrogen is involved in complex formation.tr_TR
