Abstract

The Dilemma of Art and Design Studies in Northern Cyprus' Universities and Their Reflections on the Art and Culture The diversity of the media of visual communication due to the scientific and technological advances are not but a real chaos visual sigus. The art is no longer a traditional one new approaches of scientific and intellectual issues changed art to an interdisiplianery concept. The accumulation of knowledge, political, economic and social issues during the social development process effected the improvement and the creativity of the artist. The art and design studies at TRNC' Universities also affected from above mentioned chaos and isolation from the rest of the world. Not only the artists but art and design students of these universities greatl y affected from such situation too. Third Art and Culture Congress had dealt with these contemporary problems of art and design education in TRNC and artists and scientists proposed some solutions to the problems.
