Abstract
Atmospheric conditions affect velocity of an electromagnetic wave which travels through the atmosphere in a fine geodetic distance measumerent In this manner, accuracy of the distance measurement is up to atmosheric irregularities during the survey. In an electrooptic distance measurement, an atmospheric refraction index doesn’t depend on a wavelength of light used. But -1 °C of deviation in atmospheric temperature or 2.4 mbar of deviation in atmosheric pressure results of 1 ppm of an error in the distance measured. A partial pressure of water vapour pressure in the atmosphere my be negligible.
