AHP-Based Location Selection for Tourism Facilities In-Depth Analysis with Numerical Data
    (Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi, 2025)
    COŞKUN, ASLIHAN
This study aims to identify the most suitable location for a new hotel in Antalya using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), a multi-criteria decision-making method. The main motivation of the study is to demonstrate how AHP can be effectively applied to tourism structure selection problems in the absence of prior architectural studies on the subject. The study hypothesizes that AHP provides a rational and objective approach in hotel location selection, making it an effective tool for determining the most appropriate alternative. Unlike previous studies emphasizing strategic tourism planning, this research focuses on the physical site selection process and illustrates the step-by-step application of AHP. Hotel investments should consider not only current conditions but also long-term development plans. In this context, AHP is applied to assess and rank three alternative locations based on four main criteria obtained from databases. The method involves constructing comparison matrices, calculating criterion weights, and analyzing the consistency ratio to ensure reliability. The analysis results revealed that Side, with a score rate of 38%, was the most suitable hotel location according to the determined criteria, followed by Konyaaltı (32%) and Göynük (30%). It was observed that transportation accessibility favored Konyaaltı, plot size favored Göynük, while environmental quality and proximity to the sea favored Side. The findings indicate that AHP is a useful and reliable tool for hotel location decisions, offering meaningful guidance for both investors and urban planners. The study demonstrates the value of using structured and quantitative methods when planning sustainable and efficient tourism investments. By presenting an approach that can be repeated in similar studies, this research contributes to a better understanding of multi-criteria decision-making in architectural and tourism-focused site selection.

This case report presents the nursing care of a 22 month old infant diagnosed with complete atrioventricular septal defect (CAVSD) and coexisting Down syndrome, guided by the Roper Logan Tierney Activities of Daily Living Model and the NANDA I, NIC, and NOC classification systems. Structured assessments covering 12 fundamental activities of daily living enabled identification of individualized NANDA I nursing diagnoses, with corresponding NIC interventions and NOC outcomes. The care plan addressed complex issues such as respiratory dysfunction, nutritional deficiencies, impaired physical mobility, and family coping challenges. Close collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and active family participation contributed to favorable clinical progress, while the use of standardized nursing languages ensured precise documentation and personalized care strategies. The experience underscores how integrating nursing models and classification systems into clinical practice can enhance care quality, promote patient safety, and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation in managing children with congenital heart defects and Down syndrome.

Purpose: To determine the age- and gender-specific reference values for the five functional tests performed with or without cognitive dual-task in young adults. Methods: In this cross-sectional observational study, a total of 107 participants were divided into four subgroups based on gender and age: females 18-25 years (G1), and 26-35 years (G2), and males 18-25 years (G3), and 26-35 years (G4). Participants completed the timed up and go test (TUG), 4 meter gait speed test, 10 meter walk test (10MWT), timed 25-foot walk test, and 1 minute sit-to-stand test (1MSTS) with and without dual-tasks. The mean value of each test was recorded. Results: Significant differences were observed in some functional tests. TUG was longer in G1 compared to G2 (p=0.019), 10MWT dual-task performance differed between G1 and G3 (p=0.041), and 1MSTS and 1MSTSdual scores were higher in G3 compared to G4 (p=0.044 and p=0.035, respectively). All dual-task conditions led to decreased performance compared to single-task conditions (p<0.001) Conclusion: The dual-task added to the performance tests changes the time, speed, and number of repetitions in healthy individuals, and these effects may vary according to age and gender. These reference values can guide clinical assessments of dual-task performance in this population.

Resimli çocuk kitapları çocukların pek çok gelişim alanını destekleyen ve hayattaki rolleri öğrenmelerini sağlayan önemli kaynaklardır. Bu araştırma, Eric Berne’in Transaksiyonel Analiz kuramı çerçevesinde okul öncesi döneme yönelik aile temalı resimli çocuk kitaplarını incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.
