Redefining Women's Entrepreneurship: A Conceptual Comparison with General Entrepreneurship
(Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi Kadın Araştırmaları ve Eğitimi Merkezi, 2025) MUMCU, ARTÜR YETVART
This study compares the literature on women entrepreneurship and general entrepreneurship, examining the thematic and conceptual differences between the two fields. The analysis includes articles published in English up to 2025 in the Web of Science database. In the women entrepreneurship literature, a total of 5,058 articles and 8,983 keywords were identified, while in the general entrepreneurship literature, 24,038 articles and 31,385 keywords were analyzed. The findings indicate that the women entrepreneurship literature primarily focuses on themes such as gender, empowerment, social capital, and social entrepreneurship. In contrast, the general entrepreneurship literature encompasses broader themes, including innovation, entrepreneurship education, institutional structures, and economic growth. While concepts like empowerment, social entrepreneurship, and intersectionality are prominent in the women entrepreneurship literature, the general entrepreneurship literature emphasizes innovation, institutions, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. The findings of this study provide a crucial foundation for understanding the unique challenges and opportunities of women entrepreneurs while underscoring the need for a more inclusive perspective in general entrepreneurship literature. These differences highlight the importance of integrating the two fields for a more balanced and inclusive understanding of entrepreneurship. Future research is recommended to ensure greater representation of women entrepreneurship in the general entrepreneurship literature and to foster mutual enrichment between the two fields.

Fifth-Order Compact Finite Difference Scheme for Burgers-Huxley Equation
(Necip Şimşek, 2025) AKKOYUNLU, CANAN
The Burgers-Huxley equation arises in several problems in science. The compact finite difference scheme (CFDS) has been developed for the Burgers-Huxley equation. This scheme has been compared different methods for the Burgers-Huxley equation. Dispersive properties are investigated for the linearized equations to examine the nonlinear dynamics after discretisation. The accuracy and computational efficiency of the compact finite differences scheme are shown in numerical test problems.

The Rise of Artificial Intelligence: Friend or Foe of Economic Growth?
(Gökhan Tuncel, 2025) YOLUSEVER, ARAS
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally altering the global economic landscape, unveiling both remarkable growth opportunities and significant challenges. As a pivotal technology of the 21st century, AI is set to revolutionize productivity, catalyze innovation, and spawn entirely new sectors within the economy. Its applications extend across various industries—including healthcare, manufacturing, finance, and logistics—where it streamlines operations and enables advancements that were previously inconceivable. However, the transformative power of AI is accompanied by critical concerns. Potential job displacement resulting from automation, the exacerbation of economic inequality, and ethical considerations surrounding AI deployment remain pressing issues. This analysis delves into the complex and dualistic impact of AI on economic growth, focusing on its ability to enhance productivity and drive innovation while also examining the implications for the labour market and the regulatory framework needed to address these challenges. This discussion evaluates AI's dual role in driving economic prosperity and posing risks to inclusive, sustainable growth. Ultimately, it questions whether AI will be an ally or adversary in achieving equitable economic development.

Intra-Industry Trade Specialization in Türkiye’s Agricultural Sector
(Anadolu Üniversitesi, 2025) YÜKSEL, ŞERİF; Turgan, Erdem
This study examines Türkiye's agricultural trade between 2002 and 2022, focusing on the 20-year period following the 2001 economic and political crisis. Intra-industry trade theory was employed as the research method, with the Grubel-Lloyd index used for measurement. The study highlights that, under neo-liberal policies, developed economies allocate the smallest share of GDP to the agricultural sector, with industrialization and the service sector being prioritized as the foundations of wealth and development. Türkiye adopted a similar approach, shifting its focus away from agricultural growth after 1980 to prioritize investments in industry and services. However, the findings indicate that the countries deriving the most value from agricultural trade—such as the USA, the Netherlands, France, and Germany—are among the most developed. The study also reveals that Türkiye lacks a comparative advantage in the international agricultural market, having opened the sector to competition. Nonetheless, with technological advancements and branding, Türkiye could create added more value in agriculture, potentially increasing its agricultural revenues to levels closer to those of the most developed countries.
