As Libya underwent profound internal turmoil, Turkey adapted its foreign policy to address the shifting conflict landscape and political instability. The research delineates four critical phases of engagement: the early Libyan revolution (2011-2013), the period of political division and Turkey's ensuing stance (2014-2018), Turkey's military intervention in support of the Government of National Accord (GNA) (2019-2021), and the implications of this involvement on regional stability (2021-2023). By analyzing these phases, the study reveals the motivations driving Turkish policy shifts, including strategic interests, regional security concerns, and the quest for influence in the Eastern Mediterranean. It assesses Turkey's challenges navigating the complex Libyan landscape and its broader implications for sovereignty and regional dynamics. Ultimately, the findings highlight that Turkey's engagement has been shaped by a confluence of geopolitical ambitions and local realities, impacting the trajectory of relations between the two nations. This study employs a multifaceted methodology to examine the evolution of Turkish foreign affairs, focusing on two distinct national contexts: Turkey and Libya. Since these are bilateral relations between two countries, the national level of analysis was used; however, at some stages, the international analysis was called for and used due to the intervention of new players influencing the relations between the two countries. Utilizing descriptive analysis and a case study approach, the research explores the dynamics of Turkish foreign policy transformations through a structured time frame system within the narrative. Additionally, the study incorporates theoretical frameworks such as defensive realism and social constructivism to provide a nuanced understanding of the factors influencing these changes. Through this analysis, the thesis offers a nuanced understanding of Turkey's evolving role in Libya and its significance in broader regional developments.Item type:Publication, Access status: Open Access , The Situation of Refugee Children in Turkey: Challenges to the Integration of Syrian Refugee Children Into the Turkish Society(İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, 2025) KASMI, HIND; Nazlı Çağın BilgiliThis study examines the integration of Syrian refugee children into Turkish society following their displacement due to the Syrian conflict. It focuses on the challenges they face and the intersection of international legal frameworks with national policies in addressing these obstacles. The research employs a Descriptive-Analytical Approach, synthesizing legal texts, international conventions, national policies, academic literature, and secondary data from international organizations. It also benefits from statistical information to provide context and support the analysis. Key findings reveal that language barriers, discrimination, limited access to education, and socio-economic vulnerabilities significantly impede the integration process. While Turkey has introduced various legal and educational initiatives, gaps persist in meeting the specific needs of refugee children. This study emphasizes the critical role of a comprehensive and inclusive integration strategy that involves collaboration among international organizations, NGOs, and host governments. It advocates for targeted interventions to address existing disparities, enhance social cohesion, and facilitate the successful inclusion of Syrian refugee children into Turkish society.Item type:Publication, Access status: Open Access , Alevilik Geleneğinde Bedenin İzleri: Ritüeller ve Beden Folkloru Bağlamında bir İnceleme(İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, 2025) ERKEN, MERYEM SENA; Serdar GürçayBeden; sembolik anlamların, inançların ve toplumsal süreçlerin görünür hâle geldiği bir alan olarak kültürel unsurların anlaşılmasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bedenin barındırdığı bu geniş anlam katmanı halk bilimi alanında beden merkezli okumaların gelişmesine zemin hazırlamış; Katharine Young'ın beden folkloru yaklaşımı kültürün beden aracılığıyla nasıl ifade edildiğini inceleme olanağı sunmuştur. Beden folkloru gibi görece yeni ve özgün bir yaklaşımın Alevilik bağlamında uygulanması, çalışmayı özgün ve halk bilimi literatürüne katkı sunabilecek nitelikte kılmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı; Alevilik inanç sisteminde bedene atfedilen anlamları beden folkloru perspektifiyle değerlendirmektir. Araştırmada bedene dair yaklaşımlar, beden folkloru kavramı, bedenin ritüel ve din bağlamındaki işlevleri ve Alevilik geleneği içerisindeki yeri ele alınmış; bu doğrultuda özellikle cem törenlerindeki bedensel pratiklerin ne tür sembolik ve kültürel karşılıklar içerdiği ortaya konmuştur. Çalışma, nitel araştırma yaklaşımıyla yürütülmüş; Bahçelievler ve Yenibosna Cemevleri ile Garip Dede ve Karacaahmet Sultan Dergâhlarında yarı yapılandırılmış mülakatlar ve katılımlı gözlem teknikleri kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında kurum dedeleri ve cemevi yetkililerinden oluşan toplam dokuz kişiyle mülakatlar gerçekleştirilmiş, görüşmeler ses kayıtlarıyla desteklenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra Garip Dede Dergâhında bir cem erkânı, ritüelin doğal akışı içinde gözlemlenmiş; 4. Serçeşme Hünkar Hacı Bektaş Veli Festivali'nde Alevi topluluklarına mensup bireylerle görüşmeler yapılmış ve ritüellere ilişkin ek gözlemler elde edilmiştir. ix Araştırmalar sonucunda elde edilen bulgular; bedenin Alevi ibadetlerinde hem bireysel maneviyatı açığa çıkaran hem de kolektif bilinci güçlendiren bir ifade alanı olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Cem ritüelinde gözlemlenen semahtaki dönüş figürleri, niyaz, dâr duruşları, zikirlerdeki bedensel yönelişler ve hizmetlerdeki ritmik uyum; bedenin Alevi ritüellerinde inancın anlamını görünür kılan temel bir unsur olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu çerçevede çalışma, beden folkloru yaklaşımı kapsamında Alevilik geleneği içerisinde icra edilen ritüellerin yorumlanmasında kuramsal bir temel sağlamakta; bedensel pratiklerin kültürel anlam üretimi ve aktarımındaki rolünü açıklığa kavuşturmaktadır.Item type:Publication, Access status: Open Access , Enhancing Small Cosmetics Businesses with Big Companies Innovations: a Sustaniable Productivity, and Lean Manufacturing Journey(İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, 2025) MUTAHAR, ABEER MUBARAK; İbrahim Ethem TarhanThe cosmetic industry, considering its onset from the events of far back civilizations, has a variety of contemporary issues at hand, making an impact on small companies. These obstacles as the hard battle in the market, restricted funds, and the delusions of the dated work methods. This project focuses on the important cross-roads of technology, namely Industry 4.0, and its role in sustainable practices within the small cosmetics industries. The research, through the adoption of tools such as the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and SWOT analysis, seeks to give viable solutions to improve productivity and competitiveness of business while also increasing sustainability. Through analyzing successful players in the cosmetics industry like Big Companies the study aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, providing tangible solutions directly to the needs of the small magnitude cosmetics businesses. The research will develop an in-depth analysis of industry trends to support small business owners thrive and prosper in the on-going complex cosmetic industry markets.Item type:Publication, Access status: Open Access , Psikolojik Sermaye ve Duygusal Emeğin İşe Adanmışlık Üzerindeki Etkisi(İstanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, 2025) ÇAVUŞ, SENANUR; Mine TürkerBu çalışmanın amacı çalışanların psikolojik sermayelerinin ve duygusal emek davranışlarının işe adanmışlıkları üzerindeki etkileri incelemektir. Çalışmaya, 111 mağaza çalışanı ve 131 öğretmen olmak üzere toplam 242 kişi katılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, psikolojik sermayenin ve duygusal emeğin işe adanmışlık üzerinde pozitif etkisi olduğu saptanmıştır. Yetkinlik ve pozitif beklenti işe adanmışlığı açıklarken, umutlu oluşun sadece yoğunlaşma boyutu üzerinde anlamlı bir açıklayıcılığa sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. Duygusal emeğin boyutları ile ilgili olarak, derin davranış ve samimi davranış işe adanmışlık üzerinde pozitif yönde bir etkisi varken, yüzeysel davranış boyutunun ise işe adanmışlık boyutları olan dinçlikle adanma ve yoğunlaşma üzerinde negatif bir etkisi olduğu bulunmuştur.
