Abstract
Bu çalısma insaat firmalarında proje müdürleri tarafından algılanan is yükü, is stresi, motivasyon ve is tatmini arasındaki iliskiyi incelemektedir. İnsaat sektörünün talebin degiskenliginden büyük ölçüde etkilenmesi nedeniyle, is yükü ve is tatmininin pozitif korelasyon içinde olması beklenmektedir. Literatürle paralel olarak, motivasyon ve is tatmininin pozitif korelasyon içinde olması beklenirken, is stresinin is tatminiyle negatif korelasyon içinde olması beklenmektedir. Motivasyon ve is stresinin, is tatmini üzerindeki birlikte etkisini incelemek için Çoklu Korelasyon analizi yapılmıstır. Sonuçlar, iki bagımsız degiskenin bagımlı degisken üzerindeki birlikte etkilerine tek tek etkilerine kıyasla daha fazla oldugunu göstermektedir. İs yükü denkleme girmezken, Çoklu Regresyon analizi motivasyonun is stresine kıyasla is tatmininin daha güçlü bir kestiricisi oldugunu göstermektedir
This study investigates the relationship between workload, job stress, motivation and job satisfaction perceived by project managers in construction firms. As the construction sector is severely affected by demand volatility, workload and job satisfaction were expected to be positively correlated. In line with the literature, job stress was expected to be negatively correlated with job satisfaction while motivation and job satisfaction were expected to be positively correlated. First hand data were collected from a convenient sample of 44 project managers of construction firms based in stanbul by means of a questionnaire. Pearson correlation analyses, multiple corelation analyses, Regression analyses and Multiple Regression analyses were conducted. The corelation analyses yielded significant results for the relationship between motivation and job satisfaction and the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction. Obtained results show that, there is no significant correlation between workload and job satisfaction. Multiple correlation analyses was conducted to investigate the joint affect of motivation and job stress on job satisfaction. The results indicate that the two independent variables exert a greater influence on the dependent variable compared to the individual effects of the independent variables. Mulitple regression analyses showed that motivation is a more powerful predictor of job satisfaction than job stress, while workload does not enter the equation.
