Publication Open Access Adoption of Lean Construction and AI/IoT Technologies in Iran's Public Construction Sector: A Mixed-Methods Approach Using Fuzzy Logic(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2024) UĞURAL, MEHMET NURETTİN; AGHILI, SEYEDARASH; Burgan, Halil IbrahimThe construction sector in Iran faces substantial inefficiencies, including high material wastage, posing environmental and economic risks. This study investigated the adoption of Lean Construction (LC) practices and AI/IoT technologies in Iran's public construction sector using a mixed-methods approach. This research examined the organizational, technical, and infrastructural factors across four key provinces-Tehran, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi, and Fars-and employed fuzzy logic to address the uncertainties in adoption decisions. Data from 28 key stakeholder interviews were analyzed using Python 3.9, with libraries such as Pandas 1.3.3, NumPy 1.21.2, and skfuzzy 0.4.2 for the statistical analysis and NVivo 12 for the thematic coding. The analysis revealed that organizational readiness and leadership support were the critical drivers of adoption, particularly in Isfahan and Khorasan Razavi, which exhibited the highest adoption likelihood scores (0.5000). Tehran and Fars showed slightly lower scores due to regulatory barriers and financial limitations. The findings highlight the need for targeted leadership training, regulatory reforms, and infrastructure investments to accelerate the adoption of these technologies. This study aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities) by offering practical recommendations for advancing sustainable practices in Iran's construction sector. The insights provided have broader implications for other developing economies facing similar challenges, contributing to global efforts toward sustainable development.Publication Metadata only Analytic Functions With Conic Domains Associated With Certain Generalized q-integral Operator(Korean Mathematical Society, 2023) Ahuja, Om P.; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Jain, Naveen KumarIn this paper, we define a new subclass of k-uniformly starlike functions of order-gamma (0 <= gamma < 1) by using certain generalized q integral operator. We explore geometric interpretation of the functions in this class by connecting it with conic domains. We also investigate q sufficient coefficient condition, q-Fekete-Szego inequalities, q-Bieberbach De Branges type coefficient estimates and radius problem for functions in this class. We conclude this paper by introducing an analogous subclass of k-uniformly convex functions of order-gamma by using the generalized q-integral operator. We omit the results for this new class because they can be directly translated from the corresponding results of our main class.Publication Restricted Bound on Hankel Determinants H(2)4 (F) and H(3)4 (F) for Lemniscate Starlike Functions(Honam Mathematical Soc., 2023) Kumar, Sushil; Rai, Pratima; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENAWe determine the upper bounds on fourth order Hankel de-terminants H4(2) (f) and H(3) 4 (f) for the class S*L of lemniscate starlike functions defined on the open unit disk which was introduced by Sok ' o l and Stankiewicz in [17].Publication Open Access Briot-Bouquet Differential Subordinations for Analytic Functions Involving the Struve Function(MDPI, 2022) ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Cotirla, Luminita-IoanaWe define a new class of exponential starlike functions constructed by a linear operator involving normalized form of the generalized Struve function. Making use of a technique of differential subordination introduced by Miller and Mocanu, we investigate several new results related to the Briot-Bouquet differential subordinations for the linear operator involving the normalized form of the generalized Struve function. We also obtain univalent solutions to the Briot-Bouquet differential equations and observe that these solutions are the best dominant of the Briot-Bouquet differential subordinations for the exponential starlike function class. Moreover, we give an application of fractional integral operator for a complex-valued function associated with the generalized Struve function. The significance of this paper is due to the technique employed in proving the results and novelty of these results for the Struve functions. The approach used in this paper can lead to several new problems in geometric function theory associated with special functions.Publication Open Access Coefficient Inequalities for Certain Starlike and Convex Functions(Hacettepe University, 2022) ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Kumar, SushilIn this paper, we consider two Ma-Minda-type subclasses of starlike and convex functions associated with the normalized analytic function phi(Ne)(z) = 1 + z - z3/3 that maps an open unit disk onto the Nephroid shaped bounded domain in the right-half of the complex plane. We investigate convolution and quasi-Hadamard product properties for the functions belonging to such classes. In addition, we compute best possible estimates on third order Hermitian-To eplitz determinant and non-sharp estimates on certain third order Hankel determinants for the starlike functions associated with the interior region of Nephroid.Publication Open Access Completely Monotonic Ratios of Basic and Ordinary Gamma Functions(Springer Basel AG, 2021) Berg, Christian; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Karp, DmitriiObjective: In this study, it was planned to examine fatigue, well-being and life habits in children with cancer. Methods: This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted between September 2019-January 2020. "24-Hour Child Fatigue Scale", "Child Well-being Assessment" and Child Life Habit Questionnaire (LIFE-H for Children 1.0)" were administered to 20 children with cancer aged 5-15 years. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to determine the statistical relationship between life habits, fatigue and well-being. Statistical significance level was accepted as p<0.05. Results: There were significant relationships between fatigue and personal care, shelter and mobility parameters of life habits (r=-0.66, r=0.54, r=0.45, p<0.01, respectively) and there were significant relationships between fatigue and negative emotions (r=0.46), overall life satisfaction (r=-0.52), general happiness (r=-0.49) and positive emotions (r=-0.44 *) parameters of well-being assessment. Life habits scale was found to be related with nutrition, physical fitness and communication parameters of Child Life Habit Questionnaire were found to be most related with the meaning and purpose parameter of the well-being assessment (p<0.01). There were significant relationships between positive emotions and recreation (r=0.45, p=0.04); optimism and communication (r=-0.44, p=0.04); personal care (r=-0.49, p=0, 02), social life (r=-0.46, p=0.04) and autonomy; and mobility and negative emotions (r=-0.45, p=0.04). Conclusion: Considering the relationships determined in this study, the evaluation of the children with cancer and treatment approaches can be shaped. The fact that fatigue affects all aspects of children's life reveals the importance of dealing with fatigue. It is recommended to focus on the meaning and purpose and regain autonomy for children in order to rearrange the life habits of the children and ensure their well-being.Publication Open Access Connecting Quantum Calculus and Harmonic Starlike Functions(Univ Nis., 2020) Ahuja, O. P.; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENAQuantum calculus or q-calculus plays an important role in hypergeometric series, quantum physics, operator theory, approximation theory, sobolev spaces, geometric functions theory and others. But role of q-calculus in the theory of harmonic univalent functions is quite new. In this paper, we make an attempt to connect quantum calculus and harmonic univalent starlike functions. In particular, we introduce and investigate the properties of q-harmonic functions and q-harmonic starlike functions of order alpha.Publication Open Access Deciphering the Mechanism of Melatonin-Induced Enhancement of Photosystem II Function in Moderate Drought-Stressed Oregano Plants(MDPI, 2024) Moustaka, Julietta; Sperdouli, Ilektra; İŞGÖREN, SUMRUNAZ; Şaş, Begüm; Moustakas, MichaelMelatonin (MT) is considered as an antistress molecule that plays a constructive role in the acclimation of plants to both biotic and abiotic stress conditions. In the present study, we assessed the impact of 10 and 100 μM MT foliar spray, on chlorophyll content, and photosystem II (PSII) function, under moderate drought stress, on oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) plants. Our aim was to elucidate the molecular mechanism of MT action on the photosynthetic electron transport process. Foliar spray with 100 μM MT was more effective in mitigating the negative impact of moderate drought stress on PSII function, compared to 10 μM MT. MT foliar spray significantly improved the reduced efficiency of the oxygen-evolving complex (OEC), and PSII photoinhibition (Fv/Fm), which were caused by drought stress. Under moderate drought stress, foliar spray with 100 μM MT, compared with the water sprayed (WA) leaves, increased the non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) by 31%, at the growth irradiance (GI, 205 μmol photons m−2 s−1), and by 13% at a high irradiance (HI, 1000 μmol photons m−2 s−1). However, the lower NPQ increase at HI was demonstrated to be more effective in decreasing the singlet-excited oxygen (1O2) production at HI (−38%), in drought-stressed oregano plants sprayed with 100 μM MT, than the corresponding decrease in 1O2 production at the GI (−20%), both compared with the respective WA-sprayed leaves under moderate drought. The reduced 1O2 production resulted in a significant increase in the quantum yield of PSII photochemistry (ΦPSII), and the electron transport rate (ETR), in moderate drought-stressed plants sprayed with 100 μM MT, compared with WA-sprayed plants, but only at the HI (+27%). Our results suggest that the enhancement of PSII functionality, with 100 μM MT under moderate drought stress, was initiated by the NPQ mechanism, which decreased the 1O2 production and increased the fraction of open PSII reaction centers (qp), resulting in an increased ETR. © 2024 by the authors.Publication Restricted The Effect of Wearing High Heels on Lower Extremity Kinematics During Walking for Female with Hypermobility(Elsevier Ireland Ltd., 2023) AYAN, BUSE; AKALAN, NAZİF EKİN; ÖNERGE, KÜBRA; KUCHIMOV, SHAVKAT; EVRENDİLEK, HALENURPublication Open Access Examining the Effect of Metformin on Cell Death Mechanisms in Relation to Hippo Signaling in MDA-MB-231 Breast Cancer Cells(Si̇vas Cumhuri̇yet Üni̇versi̇tesi̇, Fen Fakültesi̇, 2024) RENCÜZOĞULLARI, ÖZGE; SONALP, ZEYNEP GÜLŞAHBreast cancer is one of the most common cancer types in women in the world and our country. Antitumorigenic activity is achieved with various therapeutic drugs by directly suppressing the constantly active PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway or enabling AMPK activation. AMPK, a positive regulator of autophagy, ensures the induction of autophagy by suppressing the Akt/mTOR pathway. Metformin, an anti-diabetic drug, achieves its anti-tumorigenic effect by activating AMPK. Deregulation of the Hippo signaling pathway is a new therapeutic target because it causes cancer cells to become aggressive and evade cell death mechanisms. The study aims to reveal the effects of metformin treatment on Hippo signaling pathway activity on apoptosis and autophagy, depending on drug treatment in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells. Metformin decreased the cell viability through induction of mitochondria membrane potential loss in dose and time dependent manner in MDA-MB-231 cells. The colony forming potential of the MDA-MB-231 cells were suppressed by 10 mM metformin treatment which was induced apoptotic cell death and autophagy by increasing Bim, Bad, Bak and cleavage of caspase 3, 9, PARP and Beclin1, Atg5 and Atg7. Moreover, Hippo signaling related protein levels showed remarkable increase due to metformin treatment. It was shown that metformin treatment increased the activity of the hippo signaling pathway, resulting in the induction of apoptosis and autophagy.Publication Open Access Faber Polynomial Expansion for a New Subclass of Bi-univalent Functions Endowed with (p,q) Calculus Operators(Fuat Usta, 2021) Ahuja, Om P.; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENAIn this paper, we use the Faber polynomial expansion techniques to get the general TaylorMaclaurin coefficient estimates for |an|, (n ≥ 4) of a generalized class of bi-univalentfunctions by means of (p,q)−calculus, which was introduced by Chakrabarti and Jagannathan. For functions in such a class, we get the initial coefficient estimates for |a2| and|a3|. In particular, the results in this paper generalize or improve (in certain cases) thecorresponding results obtained by recent researchers.Publication Restricted Fekete-SzegÖ Inequalities for q-Starlike and q-Convex Functions Involving q-Analogue of Ruscheweyh-Type Differential Operator(Palestine Polytechnic University, 2022) Soni, Amit; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENAIn the present paper, the new generalized Ma-Minda type classes of q-starlike and q-convex functions are introduced by using Ruscheweyh-type q-differential operator. Denote by SRλq (φ) the class of q-starlike functions and CRλq (φ) the class of q-convex functions associated with Ruscheweyh-type q-differential operator, where φ is the function with positive real part. By making use of these classes, we obtain initial coefficient estimates and Fekete-Szegö inequalities for the classes SRλq (φ) and CRλq (φ), respectively. © Palestine Polytechnic University-PPU 2022.Publication Restricted Geometric Properties of Starlikeness Involving Hyperbolic Cosine Function(Korean Mathematical Society, 2024) Ahuja, Om P.; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Kumar, SushilIn this paper, we investigate some geometric properties of starlikeness connected with the hyperbolic cosine functions defined in the open unit disk. In particular, for the class of such starlike hyperbolic cosine functions, we determine the lower bounds of partial sums, BriotBouquet differential subordination associated with Bernardi integral operator, and bounds on some third Hankel determinants containing initial coefficients.Publication Restricted Haksız Tahrik Kurumu Üzerine Bir İnceleme(Seçkin Yayıncılık, 2019) BIKMAZ, RAİFHaksız Tahrik, failin bir suçu, mağdurun hukuka aykırı eylemlerinin kendisinde doğurduğu öfke ve derin elemin etkisi altındayken işlemesi halinde dikkate alınması icap eden bir Ceza Muhakemesi Hukuku kurumudur. We compute the sharp bounds on third- and fourth-order Hermitian–Toeplitz determinants for functions in this class. Moreover, we determine the bounds on second- and third-order Hankel determinants, as well as on the generalized Zalcman conjecture. We examine a Briot–Bouquet-type differential subordination involving the Bernardi integral operator. Finally, we obtain a univalent solution to the Briot–Bouquet differential equation, and discuss the majorization property for such function classes. © 2024 by the authors.Publication Open Access Hypergeometric Functions at Unit Argument: Simple Derivation of Old and New Identities(The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 2021) ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Karp, Dmitrii; Prilepkina, ElenaThe main goal of this paper is to derive a number of identities for the generalized hypergeometric function evaluated at unity and for certain terminating multivariate hyper-geometric functions from the symmetries and other properties of Meijer's G function. For instance, we recover two- and three-term Thomae relations for F-3(2), give two- and three-term transformations for F-4(3) with one unit shift and F-5(4) with two unit shifts in the parameters, establish multi-term identities for general F-p(p-1) and several transformations for terminating Kampe de Feriet and Srivastava F-(3) functions. We further present a presumably new formula for analytic continuation of F-p(p-1)(1) in parameters and reveal somewhat unexpected connections between the generalized hypergeometric functions and the generalized and ordinary Bernoulli polynomials. Finally, we exploit some recent duality relations for the generalized hypergeometric and q-hypergeometric functions to derive multi-term relations for terminating series.Publication Open Access Investigation the Role of miR-506 in Metformin-Induced Cell Death Mechanism in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 Breast Cancer Cells(Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2024) RENCÜZOĞULLARI, ÖZGE; QAYOUMI, SURAYAMicro RNAs (miRNA) play a role in basic cellular processes such as cell growth, development, cell cycle and apoptosis by affecting gene expression. Abnormal regulation or changes in expression of miRNAs can be observed in many diseases, especially cancer. Therefore, miRNAs are also being investigated as potential therapeutic targets. It has been suggested that miR-506 may be expressed at low levels in various types of cancer and this may contribute to cancer development. In this study, the effect of miR-506 on the sensitivity of breast cancer cells to metformin was evaluated in terms of its effect on cell survival and apoptotic mechanism. Metformin caused a dose-dependent decrease in cell viability and induced loss of mitochondrial membrane potential in MCF-7 cells while MDA-MB-231 cells were more resistant. The colony formation and migration potential of both cell lines with increased miR-506 expression were significantly suppressed after metformin treatment. Additionally, apoptotic cell death triggered by metformin was induced in both cell lines when miR-506 expression was increased. In conclusion, miR-506 acts as a tumor suppressor in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells and increases their sensitivity to metformin, indicating the potential of miR-506 to be an important therapeutic target in future studies.Publication Restricted K-Uniformly Multivalent Functions Involving Liu-Owa Q-Integral Operator(Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, 2021) ÇETİNKAYA, ASENAIn this paper, we introduce q-analogue of Liu-Owa integral operator and define k-uniformly multivalent starlike functions of order gamma, (0 <= gamma < p; p is an element of N) by using Liu-Owa q-integral operator. Moreover, we determine radii of k- uniformly starlikeness, convexity and close-to-convexity for the functions belonging to this subclass.Publication Open Access Life Cycle Assessment Analysis Based on Material Selection in Sustainable Airport Buildings(MDPI, 2024) UĞURAL, MEHMET NURETTİN; ÖZYILMAZ, MERVE RÜYA; Burgan, Halil IbrahimSustainable airport buildings aim to minimize environmental impacts through energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste management. This is achieved by employing green building materials and utilizing renewable energy sources to reduce their carbon footprint. In this study, life cycle assessment (LCA) was conducted to assess the environmental impacts of three main construction materials—concrete, steel, and wood—used in sustainable airport buildings. These materials were selected for their widespread use in eight different airport terminal buildings with sustainability certifications. The environmental impacts of these materials were calculated and compared using OpenLCA 1.9.0 software and the ECOinvent database, adhering to the standards set forth by the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) initiative. The findings indicate that wood, as a construction material, has a significantly lower impact on global warming compared to steel and concrete, with a global warming potential (GWP) ratio of less than 60%. Steel, with a GWP of approximately 90% of that of concrete, also showed a lower impact than concrete. Additionally, other environmental impacts, such as stratospheric ozone depletion potential (ODP) and acidification potential (AP), were also examined, highlighting the trade-offs associated with each material. © 2024 by the authors.Publication Open Access Mittag-Leffler Operator Connected with Certain Subclasses of Bazilevic Functions(Hindawi Ltd., 2022) Ahuja, Om; ÇETİNKAYA, ASENA; Jain, Naveen KumarIn this paper, we introduce a new generalized class of analytic functions involving the Mittag-Leffler operator and Bazilevic functions.
