Üniversite Öğrencileri Arasında İnternet Teyit/Doğrulama Platformlarının Kullanımı

Abstract

İnternet doğrulama/teyit platformları son yıllarda dikkatleri daha çok çeken organizasyonlar haline gelmiştir. Yalan/sahte haberin, özellikle sosyal medya aracılığıyla etkisini arttırdığına ve hakikatın üzerini örterek, kamuoyunu yanlış yönlendirebilir bir konuma ulaştığına dair kaygılar bu tür oluşumların önemini arttırmıştır. Benzer doğrultuda, internet doğrulama/teyit platformlarının yalan/sahte haberle mücadelede ne denli etkin bir işleyişe sahip olduğu da önem kazanmaktadır. Bu noktadan hareketle, bu çalışma internet doğrulama/teyit platformlarının üniversite öğrencileri arasındaki bilinirliği ve kullanım yaygınlığına odaklanmayı amaçlamıştır. Anket yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın bulguları bu tür organizyonların öğrenciler arasındaki kullanım düzeyinin düşük olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu durumun ardında yatan en önemli iki neden ise, bu oluşumların düşük bilinirlik düzeyine sahip olması ve kullanıcıların onlara ilişkin yaşadığı güven sorunu olarak belirmektedir.

Internet fact-checking sites have become the organizations which are attracted more attention in recent years. Worries about the rise of fake news, especially through social media, and the fact that fake news has gain more and more power to cover up the truth, is increasing the importance of such organizations. Similarly, it is also important that in what degree those platforms may have an effective functioning in dealing with fake-news. With this in mind, this study aims to focus on the awareness and use of internet fact-checking sites as a verification source among university students. In the survey conducted by the questionnaire method, findings indicate that the level of awareness and use of these organizations is low among the students. The two most important reasons behind this situation are the low level of awareness of platforms and the trust issue towards them.
